Are you going through the painful experience of a miscarriage? Maybe you are on an emotional rollercoaster whilst trying to conceive after a loss, or many years of trying for your baby? You are not alone. "Healing with Grace: Guided relaxations for miscarriage and pregnancy after loss" is the first album of its kind to help you cope at different stages of pregnancy loss. These guided relaxations are here for you during this time, when emotions can vary from one moment to the next and when you need some support to breathe again. It is widely known that meditation and guided relaxation helps to calm the body and mind. Listen as many times each day as necessary. It is the perfect reset button.

Take yourself to a comfortable place,

Like your bed,

Couch or even on the floor on a soft surface.

Lie down.

Perhaps cover yourself with a warm blanket.

Gently close your eyes.

Relax your arms and legs and face.

Breathe softly and deeply.

Check in with how you are feeling right now.

Can you name this feeling?

Perhaps you are feeling grief,

Confusion,

Sadness,

Frustration or even anger or something else.

It's okay to feel this way.

Let tears flow if they come.

At this moment,

You may already have released your baby or perhaps you are currently going through the process.

This is a time to stay home from work or any other obligations if you wish to.

It's okay to cancel anything and everything.

Nothing matters right now except care for yourself.

Allow others to care for and nurture you if you have this in your life.

Right now,

Rest and be warm.

Relax.

Your mouth is gently closed.

Jaw relaxed.

Tongue relaxed.

Take a long,

Deep inhale low into your belly.

Release this breath long and slow.

Take another deep breath.

Breathe in calm,

Strength and peace.

Exhale,

Releasing pain,

Fear and anxiety.

Your body is working to let go completely of this pregnancy and your baby and return you to your normal state of health.

Perhaps you have felt cramping or even strong contractions.

This is your uterus working strongly and well to release.

Nothing is wrong or broken.

It is working well.

Bleeding for a time will be normal.

You are allowing release,

Moving through the process and your pain.

If you have miscarried at home,

Perhaps you have seen your baby and placenta.

This can be a difficult and yet awe-inspiring time.

If you have released your baby in hospital with medication or surgery and care of others or in another way,

You can decide how you want to remember or honor your baby.

Would you like a ritual?

Ceremony?

Perhaps keep a special object to symbolize your baby or perhaps just keep sacred memories close to your heart.

Whatever way you experience this process,

It is yours.

Be free to honor yourself and your baby.

We both share a special bond.

Take another cleansing inhale and exhale deep and slow,

Deep and slow.

Be here in your body.

Is your mouth still gently closed?

Teeth slightly apart or lightly touching?

Bring your tongue down off the roof of your mouth.

Does your jaw become tight?

Feel it loosen,

Almost sliding back onto the surface behind you.

Your eyes flutter closed again if you've opened them.

Feel a waterfall of gently white healing light trickle down over your head and forehead.

Pour over your whole face and head,

Neck,

Shoulders.

Flowing down the front and back of your body and your arms.

Facing everything through to the ends of your fingers.

This white light nourishes,

Heals,

And relaxes each part of you as it flows through your heart,

Filling it up.

And your lungs,

Belly,

And pelvis.

Now feel this healing light energy enter your womb.

As it fills your womb,

It glows brighter,

Filling you with a strong and yet gentle nourishing energy.

Feel this healing light help to facilitate the flow of blood out of your uterus,

Helping to heal and soften.

And this healing light nourishes,

Heals,

And relaxes each part of you as it flows through your body.

Allow this white light to continue its journey around the rest of your pelvis,

Hips,

And buttocks,

Loosening them as it goes.

Feel it flow gently down and around your legs,

Thighs,

Knees,

Calves,

Feet,

And the back and toes.

Now this white healing energy envelops your whole body.

Let it hold you.

Let it relax you.

Feel your body totally relaxed.

Breathe slow and deep and long,

For several breaths.

Just breathe.

This white loving light still surrounds you.

Feel this love nourishing and supporting you.

You are understood,

Held,

And supported by every woman around the world and through the ages who has experienced the loss of a baby.

Feel this love and understanding holding you.

Go and sink into it.

Breathe and let go.

Continue to lie here for as long as you need,

Feeling warm,

Relaxed,

And breathing slowly and deeply.

When you want to get up,

Rise gently and continue being gentle with yourself.

Come back to this guided relaxation whenever you need to.

You are understood,

Held,

Incredible. I had a miscarriage about six months ago, and next Saturday would be my due date. I’ve been having a very difficult time with it, and was a bit skeptical about listening to this meditation because I didn’t know what to expect. Thank you so much for this. Today would have been the due date of my baby, but my pregnancy was ectopic and I needed blood transfusions and life saving surgery in early June. Having the due date looming ahead of me and no baby to deliver has been very daunting. I knew today would be hard. I am so glad I found your meditation on this of all days. I am so thankful to still he alive, but I grieve for my baby. Until listening to this meditation, I didn’t realize how much. Thank you so much. I was able to sob and release some extra grief I didn’t even realize I was carrying.
