Welcome to Life,
Lessons,
And Laughter with your host,
Glenn Ambrose.
Hello.
Welcome,
Everybody,
Welcome.
So today I want to talk about human evolution.
Not the human evolution like apes to humans evolution,
More of a modern evolution.
Um.
.
.
Yeah,
This is just about kind of understanding humanity.
As kind of as we know it and like how we got to where we are today and where we're going.
So I think that,
You know,
When we.
That there's a huge spiritual shift happening on this planet and evolution of consciousness.
That's happening on this planet.
And,
Um,
I think one of the things that kind of blocks people's minds to it,
To either accepting it or possibly even embracing it and really going like,
Wow,
This is happening.
I want to be part of this.
One of the blocks to that is we're so used to just,
We're so identified with life as it is now.
And we don't have a crystal ball,
So we can't see the future.
So we're just kind of trying to live as we are now,
And that's enough.
So I was thinking that to have an idea where we're going and to make it more realistic,
Then we can look at where we came from.
And,
You know,
And also it's going to help us understand ourselves better,
Too,
And make sense of some of the questions.
Some of the ethereal questions out there that are kind of like,
Well,
You know,
Why are there so many problems on planet Earth?
Or,
You know,
What's the,
What's the nature of human beings?
You know,
Like,
I think a lot of people A lot of people think maybe not so many on a spiritual path,
But there's a lot of people on the planet that think that humans are inherently.
Um.
.
.
Violent.
You know,
And I don't believe that.
But it's what they do is they they they look at the violence that humans have perpetrated on one another over the years and they go,
Well,
Look,
It's rampant and it's been happening all the time.
So it must be inherent.
In people.
And it's like,
Well,
You know,
Maybe we can slow down and look at the evolution of humans and we might be able to understand the evolution of violence better and where it comes from,
You know.
Stuff like that.
So I wanted to,
You know,
Yeah.
Kind of discuss where we came from first.
And then get into where we're going.
So.
You know,
Humans have been,
Well,
Let's see,
I tried to summarize this stuff.
You know,
Just to kind of get the concepts out there.
So we'll see,
I'm just going to read this beginning and what it is,
Is it's basically.
Four chunks of time.
That kind of that kind of just gives us a very vague overview of of the evolution of humans,
But more specifically,
I'm focusing on the evolutions of consciousness,
You know,
The way humans think.
And,
You know,
That that's really the aspect of human evolution.
That I'm focusing on.
So actually,
I named this podcast human evolution.
And I think when I'm done,
I'm going to change it to evolution of consciousness or something like that.
Um.
.
.
So.
Yeah,
It's just it's kind of one long sentence for each period of time,
So it shouldn't take too long.
Before a hundred thousand years ago,
Humans developed increasingly sophisticated planning,
Memory,
Tool use,
Cooperation,
And problem solving.
Laying out cognitive groundwork for later symbolic and self-referential thought.
So they were using their thinking capabilities to do things,
To plan things out,
To use tools in different ways,
You know.
So their thinking,
They were using their thinking,
You know.
Now 100,
000 years ago to,
And it's an evolution,
So it takes.
Place over a period of time,
A long period of time.
So 100,
000 years ago to about 30,
During that time,
Symbolic objects,
Personal ornaments,
Art,
Ritual,
And increasingly complex social communication become prominent.
Representing the period most relevant to the emergence of a richly conceptualized human identity.
People are starting to use personal ornaments and art and rituals.
So like,
Why would somebody,
Why would that be important?
Well,
Personal ornaments,
You have to start developing a sense of I to start decorating that I.
Like if you don't see yourself as separate from everybody else,
And you're just kind of.
You know,
Like dogs,
Like,
You know,
Animals and not that we were animals before this.
It's just like animals aren't going to go,
You know,
Buy a necklace.
I mean,
They can't buy a necklace,
But they're not concerned about differentiating themselves from somebody else.
Or looking nice or,
You know,
So so therefore wearing personal ornaments before that,
There was no evidence of that.
People just weren't doing it.
You know,
Now all of a sudden you're starting to see the evolution of consciousness.
The ego is starting to develop.
They're starting to have their concept of I who I am.
I am a hunter.
I am the best hunter.
I wear this necklace,
You know,
Like so there's that.
They're starting to identify with aspects of themselves as being who they are.
So you start seeing the development of the ego because that's what the ego is.
The ego is our mind made concept of who and what we are.
You know,
My ego says I'm Glenn.
I'm 58.
I lived.
I grew up in Massachusetts.
These are my parents.
I have brown hair.
I have blue eyes.
I have you know,
I live in the Dominican Republic.
That's my egoic identity.
It's not really who and what I am.
You know,
So before this,
People didn't really have they were just out there living,
Just like,
You know,
Kind of like we're all equal.
We just,
You know,
I I'm over here doing this.
You're over there doing that.
That's like,
You know,
There wasn't this individuality,
This this I separate.
You know,
They were in a tribe.
And sure,
They did different things within that tribe,
But they were more just,
This is us,
As opposed to,
This is me within this group.
So you're starting to see the evolution of consciousness,
The development of the ego.
Now,
10,
000 years ago to the present,
Agriculture,
Permanent settlements,
Property,
Specialized occupations,
Social hierarchies,
And increasingly complex institutions gave people vastly more categories through which to define themselves and others.
So now,
Like 10,
You're starting to see,
You know,
How can you have a caste system if you're not better than somebody else?
So the ego is in full,
You know,
The ego is flourished now.
People think,
You know,
I am,
I am the upper class.
You are the lower class.
So there's a difference between people now.
You know,
So for there to be a difference between people,
There needs to be an egoic identity as being different.
We're not just all people.
I'm a special person and you're a less than special person.
And this is how the caste systems started creating.
So this is a lot of what we know of.
From history,
You know,
Because,
I mean,
Before that there wasn't recorded history,
You know,
So.
So like this is where we're like.
You know,
The ego is already in full force.
At this point.
This is 10,
So like,
You know,
As and,
And,
You know,
Our,
Our evolved thinking.
Helped us create societies and stuff.
And it's,
You know,
Like the evolution of our thinking helped us accomplish a great deal more in a lot of ways.
But it's like anything like it's yin and yang,
There's good and bad to it.
Right.
So even though we started,
Yes,
It our thinking evolved,
And we're able to accomplish amazing things.
Together.
But we're also.
Completely identified with an egoic identity,
Not just being anymore.
And this is where you see the peace start drifting away and the large-scale wars going on and stuff like that and conquering.
Because now,
If you killed somebody else,
You weren't killing a person,
You were killing somebody that was less than you.
You were killing a non-believer.
You were killing Bye.
You know,
Something,
Some group of people that you demonized.
Like they didn't see everybody is equal anymore.
And it's not that they didn't kill people before,
But it was like,
I think.
They had a like,
You know,
And this is all theory.
I think that.
People didn't really.
Like before.
We developed our ego.
If you ran into another group of people,
It's like,
Oh,
We're people and your people.
Wow.
Okay.
Because how could you see them any different?
Like there is no I,
There is no me,
There is no difference between me and my brother.
There is no difference between me and my neighbor.
We are just one group of people.
There's no individual identity.
So if there's no individual identity,
Then.
Like you're all one in a sense,
And you're all working towards the same goals,
Survival,
Right?
So then when more people come in,
You're not like,
Oh,
You're different.
It's like,
No,
There's just more of us.
You're another one of us.
And now again,
I'm not saying that there weren't conflicts or anything.
I'm just saying it was a lot more minimal.
I mean,
Dogs don't have a sense of of identity,
You know.
I mean,
Nowadays.
More and more of my coming up.
Because they spend so much time around humans.
But let's just say in any animal,
There are there are fights over territory or food and things like that,
You know,
So those things were happening.
But I'm talking about the mass killings.
You know motivated by more.
I want more because if I conquer more than I am like before the wars would happen over like you know like I have my little piece of land and and and.
And I pick my food here and then I see somebody else picking their food,
Their food off of my area.
And you're like,
No,
There's not going to be enough food for us.
We can't survive.
You can't do that.
And then maybe a conflict would occur.
Right.
So it was just it was more territorial.
It was more protecting what you needed to protect so you could survive.
Whereas later on,
As societies develop,
We just went and we're like,
Well,
If I conquer that area of land and take it over,
Then now I have more area of land.
So therefore,
I am more powerful.
And therefore I am more special.
You know,
The motivations were changing.
It wasn't just survival,
It was an increasing sense of self.
It was feeding the ego.
That motivated all the wars,
All the wars.
All the large scale wars that have happened is all ego based.
It's just.
You know,
I'm going to conquer everybody,
So I'm the most important person on the planet.
It's like,
You know,
So you see,
You start seeing that evolution and consciousness.
I know we're talking about the negative aspect,
But it's still evolution.
We're evolving.
We're becoming more identified with thinking.
We were just basically being,
And then we started thinking.
And using our thought to enhance our structures around us.
And start planning things and stuff like this.
And then our thinking went to a whole nother level when we started identifying with the ego.
You know,
And I think.
And I think that that's,
You know,
Some people in religion,
Not just Christianity,
But a lot of religions have a similar story to Adam and Eve.
The toll tech,
There's a toll tech version of it too.
And,
Um,
You know,
What they're talking about is,
You know,
Taking the it's symbolic,
Of course.
So they're talking about taking a bite.
Of an apple.
Well,
That apple came,
That is the fruit.
Of the knowledge of good and evil.
Right,
That's what.
That's what the apple represents.
It was the tree of knowledge.
And the fruit.
Was the knowledge of good and evil.
So all of a sudden,
That's when the ego started developing.
Before we were just all together.
We didn't have,
See the knowledge of good and evil.
What that does is it.
It makes us the judge and jury.
It makes our perspective.
The only perspective which causes separation and differentiation.
Right,
So like before,
If you don't know,
You know,
Or you're not your brain isn't capable of thinking and of of.
Of things being different.
Then you don't have knowledge of good and evil.
You just everything just is.
There's no judgment.
It just is.
I am,
The tree is,
The car,
The cow is,
The grass is.
It's just everything just is.
And then now all of a sudden,
The thinking takes an evolutionary leap into judgment.
My way is the right way.
Well,
How can you have a way if you don't have an identity?
If you don't see yourself as separate from everybody else,
Then you can't have your way.
You have to be separate from other people in order for you to have your way.
Right,
So that's when the,
Oh,
My bell is going off here.
That's when the ego was formed.
And that's when the separation started.
And that's the fall of mankind.
That's where all the problems started.
You know,
We're in bliss,
One another,
Like we're just,
You know.
As a general rule,
If an animal sees another animal,
Just like.
.
.
They looking for trouble?
They read their energy?
No,
They're not looking for trouble.
Okay.
You know,
I see it with my dog all the time.
It's like my dog gets along with all the other animals because she's not,
She's not there to hurt them.
Or to scare them in any way.
So like,
You know,
Some of the other dogs around will go barking at the cows and getting them running because,
You know,
It's a little power trip for them.
Chasing him around.
My dog doesn't do that.
My dog wants to be friends with them.
So the cows let my dog go right up to him.
You know,
Like a few weeks ago,
She was cleaning one of their ears.
Cows laying on the ground.
And she's over there nibbling inside deer,
You know,
And she does it with donkeys and like all kinds of animals.
So it's if there's,
You know,
They can sense and if you're not.
You know,
Aggressive towards them,
Then you're just,
You know,
Whatever.
I'm over here.
You're over there.
No big deal.
But when you start forming that eye.
Identity.
And that separateness,
That ego identity.
Now,
All of a sudden,
This is what comes.
So that's what's represented in the story of Adam and Eve.
It's the ego is being formed.
We're going from,
Hey,
We're just chilling in the Garden of Eden.
Everything's fine.
We're all equals.
Everything's cool.
Now,
All of a sudden,
You know,
Taking a bite of the knowledge of good and evil,
Now all of a sudden we become the judge.
What's right and what's wrong.
My way's right,
Your way's wrong.
I'm good,
You're bad.
So the separation,
The differentiation started.
You know,
How through the development of the ego,
The sense of I am this and you are that,
And we are not the same,
Right?
So that was the beginning of all the problems,
The fall of mankind,
Symbolized in religion.
Um.
.
.
So now and then the last piece.
I wanted to touch on was that,
Like,
You know,
We were so consumed by our thinking and our life as it is now that we often forget how short of a time we've been here.
Like society has kind of been the way it is like 90 miles an hour,
You know.
Information everywhere,
Problems everywhere,
All just trying to make ends meet,
No real time for family,
You know.
No real sense of community,
Like all the stuff that's going on now,
It's been during my life,
I've seen it increase,
But even for me,
It's kind of like the frog in the hot water,
You know,
Like if you put a frog in hot water,
It jumps out.
But if you put it in cold water and then just turn up the heat gradually,
It stays and will boil to death.
So it's like,
You know,
When,
When,
Things have been gradually getting worse.
Throughout my life and the only reason that I'm aware of it.
Or so aware of it is because of the spiritual path that I'm on.
You know,
If I wasn't spending all my time,
You know.
Trying to disconnect from the dysfunctions of society.
And I was spending my time trying to fit into society.
Well,
Then I wouldn't see all the problems like now I see all the problems.
So I don't want to fit into society.
That's the last thing that I want.
It's it's it's immensely dysfunctional and it's gotten tremendously more dysfunctional over the last 50 years that I've been alive.
So like the last thing I want to do is fit into it.
I don't.
I don't want to fit into something dysfunctional because that makes me dysfunctional,
Right?
So I have heightened awareness because I'm looking at it from a particular perspective and anybody else that's looking at it from that perspective will see it too.
And some people understand it,
But they're like,
Yeah,
But there's nothing I'm going to do about it.
So I'm going to go fit in.
Okay.
That's fine.
You know,
If that's your choice.
Um,
But the last,
You know,
So we haven't lived like this where we didn't know our neighbors,
Where we're completely dependent on our jobs for absolutely everything,
Where we don't have downtime to spend with our families or just to sit still,
Um,
Where we don't have constant distractions like television and radio and,
And,
And,
Um,
Social media and scrolling.
Like we haven't been here that long.
And people are like,
Well,
This is life.
This is how it is.
This is life.
It's like,
Well,
It's life right now,
But it's never been life.
Humans have been on the planet for hundreds of thousands of years,
And nobody has ever lived like this in human history.
So it's not like life,
Like this is what human existence is supposed to look like.
That's not true.
It's only look like this for a very short period of time.
You know,
And I think that that's another piece we have to keep in mind,
Like it's only been the last couple hundred years that people have the most that people live like this.
You knew your neighbors.
Like,
Of course you did.
Like,
How could you not?
You needed to depend on them if your kid got sick or if,
You know,
You needed a hand building your house or whatever.
Like 200 years ago,
It was completely different.
So 200 years is a kind estimate.
We've only been living like this more like 100 years ago.
You still knew your neighbors.
You were still dependent on them.
I mean,
We had the roaring 20s,
Right?
So life was picking up speed and it was longstanding civilization and all this stuff.
So maybe 100 years ago,
We were halfway here or something.
Change speeds up as time goes on.
So like the changes that took place between 100 years ago and 50 years ago,
Are small compared to the changes that happened 50 years ago to now.
Because technology feeds off of itself,
Change feeds off of itself,
So it's constantly picking up speed.
So the changes that are going to happen from now,
50 years from now,
Are going to be much more dramatic than from 50 years ago to today.
But,
You know,
Just to kind of remind us,
Like 200 years ago to the present industrialization,
Urbanization,
Mass communication,
Wage based economies.
And accelerating technology dramatically increased the scale and speed of human life,
Producing far more social interaction I don't know if I'd agree with that.
Depends on what your definition of social interaction is.
Information,
Producing far more information,
Far more competition,
And externally imposed demands than existed in most of human history.
Much more externally imposed demands than ever existed in human history.
That's kind of what I wanted to go over as far as.
The past,
You know,
Just going like just reminding us what has transpired so we can kind of see it in the big picture because,
You know,
It's the chaos theory.
It's like when you're looking too close and you're looking at life and you're like,
Oh,
I got to figure out how to.
Live a healthy life.
And then you look at,
You know,
2026 when this is being recorded and you go,
Okay,
This is how life works.
This is how it is.
And I need to figure it out.
Um,
That's a very small.
Snapshot.
Of human history.
We've been here for hundreds of thousands of years,
You know,
And there's this saying,
If you don't learn from the past,
You're doomed to repeat it.
So like,
Let's look at the past,
You don't have to understand all of it.
But if you understand that there has been an evolution in thinking,
Then you start understanding the thinking better.
And you just start understanding that it's not mandatory that it is this way.
It's just how we evolved.
We went from just kind of being,
And we're kind of all the same,
To going,
Wait,
I'm different,
And you're different,
So we're separate.
And then that like caused most of the problems.
And it was very,
Very gradual like the frog in the hot water.
It's very gradual.
You know,
Well,
When you are when you're.
Oh,
My God.
Because.
.
.
I want everybody to know that I think it looks good.
And whenever people see me,
It's like,
Oh,
That's the dude that wears the necklace.
Like,
And they'll know who I am.
It's like,
When you're just starting to develop your ego at that point,
90% of your consciousness is still in the present moment.
Like you're not using your thinking that much.
You're just getting it.
You're just learning how to use it.
So it's probably five or 10% of your time,
You know,
You make a necklace one day and then that's it for your life.
There,
That was your whole experience in self-identity.
You know?
Well,
Over tens of thousands of years,
Then it starts over,
You know,
Everybody's doing this.
And then all of a sudden,
It starts taking over 10% of our consciousness,
Then 15%,
And then 20%.
You know,
And then 10,
000 years later,
It's taking over 30% of our consciousness,
Then 35% of our consciousness.
So what we're doing is we're we're becoming more identified with our mind,
And which is our egoic identity and who we think we are,
Than just being and being is where we find peace.
Like,
You know,
I can do it right now.
Any of us can do it right now.
If you just stop your mind,
You know,
There's different techniques to do it,
Either meditation,
Using a mantra,
Focusing on your inner body.
Breathing techniques,
Whatever.
If you just center yourself and you stop the thinking and you're just being,
There's complete peace there.
That's how people were.
A long time ago,
100% of the time.
In a perpetual state of peace.
You know,
Unless a little fight happened,
The adrenaline pops up,
You defend yourself.
And then,
You know,
You shake it off.
And five minutes later,
You're back to not thinking,
You know,
Not caught up.
In that energy.
So you're just back at peace.
You're not carrying around a resentment.
You know,
You might remember,
Like,
If I see that again,
That guy again,
There was a problem last time.
I got to be careful.
Oh,
OK.
But you're not sitting there going like,
You know,
You know,
Honey,
I was at the river and this guy came up and he wanted to use my cup,
But then he didn't give it back.
And that's not fair.
Like,
You're not making up all these stories around why you're a victim of somebody like it's,
You know,
Like you just drop back into peace because you're in peace 90 percent of the time anyway.
And then,
You know,
10,
000 years later,
You're 50% at peace or 30,
000 years later,
You're 50% at peace and 50% caught up in your mind.
Now we're basically caught up in our mind.
I mean,
Most people on earth.
Are constantly thinking.
And they're constantly ruled by what they're thinking.
My base.
90 to 100% of the time.
Otherwise,
Nobody be getting upset.
Like,
You know,
If.
If somebody reaches for a piece of broccoli at the grocery store that I was going to reach for,
And then they took it,
It's not personal.
They weren't trying to screw me over.
They just saw the broccoli and reached for it.
But most people today get upset about that.
They're like,
Oh,
I was going to take that one.
What are you doing?
You know,
You jerk.
It's like,
That's,
You have to be identified with your mind.
If you were centered and at peace,
There's no way you would think that that was an attack on you.
Because there's no you to attack.
You just are.
Right?
So all the problems are on planet Earth are are egoic driven.
They're driven by the fact that we are identified as an individual and who we think we are.
That drives.
Everything in the world now.
It drives all the problems.
It drives all the expansion.
It drives all the motivations for everything.
It's literally,
The ego is literally in control of the world.
That is why we have all the problems.
It's not because there's problems with humanity.
It's not because humans are violent.
It's because humans are violent when they're trying to defend themselves against other people.
When they think their way is the right way and everybody that isn't the right way is wrong and bad,
Then that's when wars happen.
Or they want to acquire things that other people have because it's going to increase their sense of identity and who they are.
That's the problem.
So when we're looking at humanity going,
No,
Humans are inherently violent,
It's like,
No,
They're not inherently violent.
Before there was thinking,
Before there was egoic identity,
Sure,
There was violence,
But about as much as cows.
You know,
Every once in a while,
Yeah,
Some cows will get pissed off at each other for something and butt their heads a little bit and then walk away.
Like sure that stuff happened,
But it's,
It's not,
It didn't run the world.
Like we weren't just running around killing each other for sport.
It doesn't feel good to hurt other people.
It's not natural.
Natural is peace.
So.
.
.
So this is what causes all the problems,
Right?
So now this is where we are.
So now where are we going?
How does this transition?
Well,
This is the whole point.
This is why the evolution of consciousness is so important.
And I've got for those of you on video,
I've got this tattoo.
And I don't know if you're gonna hear me,
But I'm gonna hold it up to the camera.
So basically.
For those of you that are not watching.
The tattoo that I just showed to the camera.
Is the typical evolution story,
You know,
From from ape to man standing upright.
And it's got like one,
Two,
Three,
Four,
Five,
Six,
A total of six levels.
The the five are the ones that everybody's seen,
You know,
From ape to man standing up.
But the last one I have is a human meditating.
With light coming out of their head.
And I did it with all,
Had it done with all dot work.
So all the dots are really close together.
So it looks like a solid,
Like in the beginning,
The ape looks like it's basically solid black.
And then as the evolution continues,
I had them use less and less dots.
And so by the time you get to the person meditating,
It looks much lighter and less density.
This is how I see the evolution of consciousness.
We are evolving,
You know,
Out of.
.
.
Why?
Because we have to at this point.
Like the ego has been running the world into the ground and we are killing ourselves as a species.
Like,
You know,
It's just a matter of time before we wipe ourselves off the planet.
So that's when evolution picks up is when it needs to.
So we've gotten to the end of this egoic thinking stage.
So,
You know,
And we're going into a higher level of consciousness,
A higher vibration of consciousness,
A higher level of thinking,
You know,
To to rise above the level of thinking is another way to say it.
You know,
It's like we're trapped in this level of thinking and and egoic identity right now.
And we're trapped in it.
And that's it.
Just it's how everybody thinks.
It's how everybody spends all day.
It's what causes all the problems.
And we're just stuck right there,
Right?
Now,
We can drop below the level of thinking by watching television,
Drinking alcohol,
Or taking illegal or legal drugs,
Or shopping,
Or scrolling on our phone.
We can distract portions of our brain in a myriad of ways enough to drop below the level of thinking so we can kind of get a vacation from that incessant thinking.
And people think that that's relaxation,
And it's actually not really relaxation.
There's no,
Your body and your mind does not recuperate that way.
Like by dumbing yourself down.
Yes,
It gives you a vacation from the thinking mind to some degree.
And that in itself is a relief.
So that's why everybody does it.
That's why everybody's addicted to some sort of distraction,
Because you can't stay in that level of thinking all the time.
So we've learned ourselves to numb our mind with something.
Sex,
Television,
Like I said,
All the different things.
So we'll numb our mind so it drops below that level.
So a certain aspect of it is occupied not by what we're doing,
But or by what we're doing.
And it just Not our whole mind,
Though.
You know,
We're not completely focused on it.
It just,
It just slows down that thinking or we can get completely involved in a movie or something.
And sometimes we stop thinking altogether.
You know,
Sports is another way,
You know,
To really focus on the present moment.
People have to do that in sports.
Like generally,
If you're playing an intense sport or participating in an intense activity,
You can't be making your grocery list in your mind while you're doing that.
You need to be focused on what you're doing.
You know,
So.
But people think that that's,
You know,
They're doing good,
Like,
Oh,
I'm all you know,
I'm stressed out and caught up in the level of mind all the time.
And then I go home and watch TV to get a break.
It's like,
Yeah,
But you're not you're not recuperating.
You're not actually resting.
You're dumbing yourself down.
You're becoming less than yourself.
You're like kind of going back in evolution.
You know,
Like we're not supposed to go backwards in evolution.
It's unnatural.
So like,
But that's all we know how to do.
Where we're going is rising above the level of thinking.
Consciously choosing to stop our mind,
Consciously choosing to not be identified with that level of thinking as who we are,
And knowing that we are much more than that,
And that we are all connected.
And there we have a level of peace,
And we have a huge level of recuperation.
You know,
Like I noticed this a long time ago when,
When,
You know,
I was a single parent and my son was living with me and it was very busy and,
You know,
He's playing on all these soccer teams and I'm starting my business.
And,
And it was just,
It was a very busy time in my life.
And I needed a break.
I was just like,
My God,
I just need to stop,
You know,
And and I figured out a way to have like a weekend to myself.
And I watched stupid movies and I,
You know,
Ate a meat lovers pizza and snacks and sat around the house.
I didn't do anything for like the weekend.
And then Monday I started working again.
And I noticed five minutes after I started working,
I was just as stressed as I was Friday evening.
And I'm like,
What the hell did the I just took the whole weekend to recuperate,
Like,
And I'm not recuperated at all.
I just picked up where I left off on Friday,
You know,
And that was when I realized that,
Like,
What I was doing was not recuperating me.
You know,
Like if you if you like search how much.
Time meditation is equal to in sleeping,
Depending on,
You know,
What website you look at or what study you see,
It's somewhere,
You know,
It can be like somewhere around 20 minutes of meditation is equal to two hours of sleep.
For your mind and body.
So when you rise above the level of thinking,
That's evolution.
You're going above,
You're going to the next level.
And that there's a whole,
There's an immense level of recuperation up there.
Your body recuperates faster than sleep.
Your mind recuperates faster than sleep.
Why?
Because that's what evolution does.
We become a better version of ourselves where we're more effective.
Evolution doesn't make you less effective.
Like,
Even the problems we have now,
You know,
Like,
Well,
Glenn,
You said that the ego causes all the problems before we didn't have the ego.
It's like,
Yes,
But the ego doesn't just cause the problems.
The ego also caused the civilizations and all the amazing things we've accomplished.
Like it did good too.
Like the,
You know,
Like the modern conveniences,
The,
I mean,
Whether you like the technology or whether you don't like the technology,
It doesn't really matter.
You got to be amazed by it.
That,
That,
That we're even able to accomplish the things that we accomplished.
Like,
That's amazing.
I don't think it's all necessary and stuff like that,
But whatever.
I mean,
It's pretty damn impressive what we've accomplished through our thinking.
So like,
You know,
We've accomplished great things through our thinking,
And we're capable of doing even more because of our thinking.
It's just the negative aspects of our thinking are overtaken the positive aspects,
Right?
So like,
Let's follow this evolution.
So if we're still capable of thinking,
Like as a general rule,
Here's one way that I kind of quantify it.
Human beings at this stage of our evolution,
We do not ask,
Should I do something?
We ask,
Can I do something?
Why?
Because we think our thinking is so freaking cool.
And we love playing with it.
So we're just like,
Oh my God,
Could I send a person to the moon?
Could I could I build a building that's 200 stories high?
Could I?
Build like we figured out how to split an atom and it's just this immense energy like what would And if I.
Harness that power.
It would be so much power I could unleash on one place like I could blow up a whole freaking country like.
And we don't stop and go,
Yeah,
But is that a good idea?
Should I?
We just go,
Can I?
And we're curious.
So we try to figure out if we can.
And then we can,
And we're not at the level of thinking where we are responsible yet.
We're just at the level of thinking of going,
Can I?
Can I?
Can I?
And so far,
We haven't found any limits.
We're just like,
Yeah,
I can.
Yeah,
I can.
Yeah,
I can.
And we just keep creating stuff.
The whole point of technology was supposed to be to simplify our life and make it easier.
Our lives are much harder now.
We have 10 times more.
Things,
Helping us accomplish things faster and easier for us.
So our lives should be slower and easier,
But we're not using them consciously.
So all we're doing is just speeding stuff up,
Right?
But what if we kept our,
Because we're not gonna go backwards in evolution,
So what if we kept our ingenious creative abilities and our ability to think and all the things we can accomplish,
Except we used it responsibly?
We didn't just do it just because we can.
We did it because it would help humanity.
And it would actually make people happier and get rid of poverty and get rid of war.
What if we used our thinking to accomplish good things and we stopped using it to accomplish bad things?
That's the evolution.
That's where we're going.
We're not going to stop thinking because thinking isn't the problem.
It's the over-identification with thinking that's the problem.
And not using it properly,
That's causing all the problems.
So our next evolution of thinking,
We're going to be able to think even better,
Even more efficiently,
Because we're not going to be incessantly caught up in busyness and stress,
And not knowing how to stop our brain,
Not knowing how to recuperate.
Once we learn how to recuperate,
We think much better.
Your brain is like it's overloaded.
It's never stops.
Like your brain will be going for literally 60 years straight.
It's tired.
Nothing can function like that well.
So once we learn how to stop it and be in control of it.
When we do turn it on,
It's going to be that much more capable.
So this is the evolution of where we're going.
So,
You know,
You can kind of see from a snapshot,
We went to just being,
To developing the ability to think.
And then.
We started,
You know,
Creating tools and planning and all this stuff.
And then we started create,
You know,
Along with that ability to think.
On a new level.
Came the ability to identify with the ego.
Well,
I am.
You are something and I am something.
So we're not the same.
We're two different things.
So it's like,
So along came with that,
And we completely,
We didn't,
You know,
And again,
This probably took 100,
000 years,
50,
000 years for it to happen.
So it was gradual.
And little by little,
We got consumed with thinking,
Thinking,
Thinking,
Thinking,
Ego,
Ego,
Ego,
Ego,
Until it completely took us over.
And then now there's no balance.
Nature always seeks balance.
If we were balanced,
And we're like,
Well,
You know,
Like.
Half the time,
You know,
Like,
Yes,
I understand that.
On planet Earth,
I am somewhat separate from other people because I have my way of thinking.
And I like to wear certain clothes.
And I like to do certain activities.
So yes,
There are differences.
So egoically,
You know,
I have kind of a sense of identity through the things that I like,
Which I understand isn't the same as somebody else.
OK,
That's fine as long as you don't bring in judgment.
You know,
It's okay to be different.
We're supposed to be different.
But when you start using it.
You know,
As who you think you are.
Then you're constantly having to To complain,
You know,
Complaining is one of the best ways we feed our ego.
Because complaining inherently is basically saying,
If it were up to me,
I would do it differently and therefore better.
So it's like.
You know,
Anything.
It's like,
Oh,
Well,
You know,
This.
.
.
This toast is a little burnt.
What,
You don't know how to use a toaster?
That's stroking your ego.
Because what you're saying is,
If I were to have toasted it,
I would have toasted it perfectly,
And therefore I'm better than you.
And you're not good enough to toast my bread properly,
So you're less than me.
That's what all complaining does.
Because you can address the situation.
You can say,
I'm sorry,
This is a little bit burnt.
I prefer it not burnt.
Is there any way that I could get a new piece of toast that's not burnt?
That's addressing the situation.
Which is fine,
You can have preferences and you can address the situation,
But we don't do that in society anymore.
As a general rule,
What we do is we take every opportunity to judge others to make ourselves feel better.
And it's endless.
We can never feel good enough because it's like trying to fill a hole inside of you with the idea of dirt.
Like,
Because there's no substance to it.
Like you're not actually better than that person.
So you throw an idea that makes you feel better than that person.
And you feel better for 30 seconds.
But then it wears off because there's no actual substance to it.
So now you got to complain about something else.
So then you feel better for 30 seconds.
And then it wears off and you're like,
Damn,
I just put two shovels of dirt into that hole and it's still not full.
So we've got to complain about something else.
And then you feel better and you go,
Oh,
There,
Oh,
30 seconds later.
Gone.
Well,
I need another shovel.
So you know,
Like,
That's,
That's what we're constantly doing in our lives.
And there's no substance to it.
Like we can just but what if we just felt good about ourselves?
What if we were just present,
We weren't completely identified with our ego as who we are?
Well,
We'd probably stop complaining.
We would still address things.
Hey,
I would like that toast different.
Thank you.
But we wouldn't be attacking one another all the time.
You're wrong,
You're wrong,
You're wrong.
You know,
So it would completely change society.
We wouldn't be driven by this desire to fill this giant gaping hole inside of us because we'd fill it with ourselves.
We'd fill it with love,
Self-love.
Love for others.
Unconditional love.
And we wouldn't be creating things just because we can and then using them to to build our egos up even more because we feel more powerful.
We would be like,
Well,
This would hurt people.
Well,
Maybe we shouldn't do that.
Good freaking idea,
You know,
And then we wouldn't be.
Why?
Because it's just not natural to want to go hurt a bunch of people.
Like nobody's sitting there going,
You know what?
I feel really good today.
Like I'm just in good space.
I feel like me.
I feel,
Um,
Complete.
I feel like my natural self Glenn.
I think I'm going to go stab somebody in the forehead with a fork.
Like,
Nobody says that.
We lash out when we're not ourselves.
We don't lash out when we are ourselves.
When we feel comfortable with ourselves and who we are,
There is less violence.
Like,
You want to know who fights the least in humans?
It's the people that are the best at fighting.
Those people get in the least fights.
I know,
I grew up in that.
Violent.
Fighting all the time.
And you want to like when when people were more quiet and less defensive.
And just were looking for an out.
In a calm,
Confident way,
That was those you could pick up on that energy and you'd be like,
Okay,
Wait a minute,
There's something going on.
There's something different about this one.
He's not acting like 90% of the rest of the people.
He's confident,
He doesn't look scared,
But yet he's trying to give me an out.
But he's very confident.
It's like,
Oh,
That dude,
Like I remember specifically one time there was somebody doing it and I was just all jacked up and I was,
I wasn't going to let him off the hook.
I really wanted to go.
And then finally a bunch of people separated us and pulled me aside and they're like,
Do you know who that is?
And I'm like,
No.
And they're like,
That was,
That dude was golden gloves boxer for,
You know,
Three years in a row in this area or something.
And I was like,
Oh,
I was like,
That makes sense.
Because I could tell his energy was different.
Like he was like I was being a jerk and he was like.
No,
Let's not do this.
Let's not do this.
But it wasn't out of fear.
Right?
So like,
This is what I'm talking about.
Like when you're When you're confident in yourself,
You don't need to boost.
Your your sense of ego by attacking somebody else,
You're good in who you are.
So the violence would drop dramatically,
And it will as we start leaning into this.
So that's it.
I mean,
You know,
I think I kind of.
Followed the line that I was trying to convey.
So I know I didn't spend a lot of time on where we're going,
But hopefully a lot of you,
You know,
Maybe I'll do a follow up.
But where we're going is a higher level of consciousness.
We are evolving as a species because we have to.
And if you understand that,
If you just look and you're like,
Well,
You know,
Like,
Can you comprehend that?
There's multiple ways.
On planet Earth for humans to destroy humanity as a species,
Like nuclear bombs and other ways.
We're capable of that now.
That's why this spiritual shift is happening now.
That's why it didn't happen 10,
Or 1000 years ago.
It's because we weren't at this point yet,
Because evolution kicks in when it needs to.
So we've gotten ourselves to this point now we where we are a major threat to our own species.
So therefore we need to evolve,
We need to evolve,
And if you look at the consciousness evolution that we've gone from basically non-thinking to thinking.
To identifying with the ego,
To completely identifying with the ego,
To the ego running the entire world and causing all the problems,
Being completely out of balance.
Completely out of whack,
Just unconsciousness just running the entire globe.
And us being able to kill ourselves as a species.
Well,
Once you understand that,
Then it's like,
Well,
Of course,
We're trying to evolve.
Of course,
Consciousness is trying to get to the next level.
We're trying to transcend this negative space by evolving into a better version of ourselves.
So this is where we're going.
Join me,
Come on board.
All right,
Peeps,
Thanks for listening and let me know if you have any questions or,
You know,
If I can be of service.
All right,
Peace.
You
