Welcome to this winter walk meditation.
My name is Jenna and I welcome you all.
Before we start,
Let's get comfortable.
Be seated or lying down.
Move your body so you feel good.
It is a sunny winter's day.
It got quite cold compared to yesterday.
Beautiful sunshine brings people outside but can quickly send them back in when they feel the crisp chilly air.
So you dress up warm for today's winter walk.
You put on some sturdy and thick winter boots,
Ski pants,
A long insulated winter coat,
Windproof mittens,
A cozy scarf tucked in tight and a toque surrounding your scalp,
Ears and forehead.
Once you're all bundled up,
You open the door and step outside.
You take a slow breath in to feel the crisp and fresh air.
You gaze around the winter wonderland and see fresh snow on the ground,
Roads,
Parked cars,
Trees and other plants.
Stepping into the snow,
You feel the soft snowflakes crunch down as you step and go on your way.
There comes a light wind and you feel grateful you've dressed up nice and cozy warm.
Walking and moving your body feels great.
You go past a pine tree that has some snow on its needles and you see a bird.
It lands on top of the needles and some snow flicks off.
The bluebird looks around and chirps its song.
There is a reply from another bird.
As you walk,
You start to approach the path you come across a pond.
Snow has begun to fall again and is adding to the pond.
As you gaze around this winter wonderland,
You notice that it starts to snow once again.
The snow falls lightly with large fluffy snowflakes.
It's quiet outside on this path,
Probably because it's so chilly,
But it also feels so peaceful with the quiet.
Take another breath in and out through the nose.
As you move your feet,
Your arms move as well,
Mostly around you.
Just hear yourself moving in the path.
You start to approach the end of the path to go back home again.
Before you finish this path today,
You decide you'd like to make a snow angel.
You twist,
Lay down on your back,
And you start moving your arms and your legs,
Making wings.
Do this a few times.
Also stick out your tongue to get a couple of snowflakes.
Turn yourself around to look at your snow angel.
It's oval head,
Wings,
And then down to the big dress.
Of course,
Different parts of the snow angel are packed down a little bit more,
More of that body weight.
And at the end of those wings,
A little lighter.
It's beautiful to see the different layers.
Take another breath in.
Continue on home with joy and peace.
It's been a beautiful day for a winter walk.
You're ready for the rest of the day and more joy to come.
