Find a comfortable position,
Sitting in a peaceful,
Quiet spot,
Wherever feels right for you in this moment,
And just allow your eyes to gently close.
Let your hands rest softly,
Maybe on your lap,
Or against your belly,
Or on your heart,
Wherever feels like home right now,
And let's take one easy breath in,
And just let it go.
You don't need to do anything with this time,
Except arrive.
There's nowhere to be,
Nothing to fix,
And nothing to figure out.
Just you,
Just here,
Just now.
Bring your awareness now to the soles of your feet,
And feel where they meet the earth,
Through the floor,
Through the ground beneath you.
Let the earth hold you now.
You don't have to hold yourself.
There is something ancient beneath you that has always been there,
Steady,
Patient,
Consistent.
Allow that steadiness to begin to travel upward,
Through your feet,
Your ankles,
Your calves,
The backs of your knees,
And then up through your thighs,
Your hips,
The base of your spine.
And as it keeps moving,
Just let your belly soften.
Let your chest open a little,
And on the next out-breath,
Just let your shoulders drop slightly,
And notice your breath moving through you.
You don't need to control it,
Just notice it,
In and out,
In and out.
And we're going to go on a journey together,
Or should I say you're going to go on a journey within.
This journey's not just going to be in your mind,
It's going to move through your body.
And I'd like us to begin by you just imagining yourself,
An absolutely teeny tiny version of yourself,
Holding the most beautiful flag.
And on that flag are written the words,
Everything's going to be okay.
And as you hear these words now,
I'd like you to imagine that little version of you,
Starting its journey somewhere inside of your right hand.
Because I'm going to invite you today to get the message out there,
Or should I say to get the message in there.
And however you choose to move through your body,
Whether joyfully running and celebrating that everything's going to be okay,
Or gently walking through the body,
As if on a walk through a forest,
It's up to you.
But I'd like to invite you to make sure that every bone,
Every cell,
Every muscle hears the message,
Everything is going to be okay.
And as you move through the body,
I would just like you to notice which parts of you awaken in celebration,
Or melt into warmth and safety as they hear those words.
It may feel like beautiful,
Warm,
Running water,
And it may really feel like you can hear the applause as you move through the body.
There's no right or wrong here,
So let's just get moving.
And so as you're moving through the inside of your hand and perhaps up the arm past the wrist,
And moving around as you feel like it,
Wave that beautiful flag and say the words,
Everything's going to be okay.
And just notice what happens.
This is a big announcement and parts of you have been waiting to hear this for a very long time.
And I'd like you to move through the body at your own pace in the direction that feels right for you.
And over the next couple of minutes,
All I'm going to say is,
Everything's going to be okay.
Just to remind you that wherever you are at that moment,
To say those words.
Enjoy that beautiful journey inside of yourself.
Everything's going to be okay.
Everything's going to be okay.
You may find yourself whispering.
You may find yourself singing.
You may find yourself saying these words differently in different parts of the body.
And that's fine too.
You may on occasion even wish to stop and stay somewhere and say the phrase a few times over.
Everything's going to be okay.
Everything's going to be okay.
Make sure you go to every part of the body,
The toes,
The fingers,
Your hair follicles.
And in a moment,
I'm going to ask you to just take a rest somewhere near the heart.
So I'd like you now to make your way towards the heart area and find a lovely stone for yourself to sit on.
Now somewhere inside of you,
Held very quietly and very carefully,
Possibly even tucked away and hidden,
Is a younger version of you.
A child who learnt to carry things,
To be strong,
To keep going,
To manage whatever life threw at it.
You don't need to know exactly how old they are.
You don't need to find a specific memory.
Just allow a sense of them to arise naturally,
Gently,
In whatever way comes.
And perhaps from here,
In your heart,
You can sense where in your body they live.
Some people feel their inner child in their chest,
Some in their belly,
Some in a tightness in the throat,
And some right in the very centre near the solar plexus.
And maybe yours lives somewhere else.
But wherever they are,
You don't have to reach for them.
Just let your awareness settle,
Like sitting quietly next to someone who isn't quite ready to be held.
I just want you to stay where you are and just be present.
And if you can,
Let them know,
In whatever way feels true,
That you're here,
That they're not alone.
And now let the words travel there,
To wherever you think they are.
And perhaps by now,
They're even sitting next to you.
Take those words to that brave,
Tender little one.
Everything is going to be okay.
You didn't do anything wrong.
You were doing the best you could with what you had.
You were so young.
And so clever.
And so brave.
Everything is going to be okay.
You're safe now.
And you're allowed to rest.
Everything is going to be okay.
You may wish to wave your flag,
Or gift it,
Or put it in the ground somewhere nearby in your home.
You have a strong heart.
Whatever you do will be right.
And I want to offer you something to hold on to now.
Something quietly extraordinary.
But when we bring healing to a place inside ourselves,
Even a small softening,
That healing does not stay only with us.
It moves backwards through time,
Through the line of those who came before you.
The parents,
The grandparents,
The great-grandparents,
All the way back seven generations.
Through everybody that carried something they did not have the tools to heal.
And it moves forwards into the seven generations that will come after you.
Into the children and their children's children and those not yet imagined.
Who will be born into a slightly lighter life because of what you chose to heal today.
Let yourself just feel the full weight and beauty of that knowledge just for a moment.
Everything is going to be okay.
And if you're sitting now with your inner child,
Say a few words.
Give them a hug.
And get ready to start coming back.
And if your inner child was nowhere to be seen,
Don't you worry because they will have heard your voice.
And should you come back to this meditation,
They will come to you when the time is right for them.
Slowly now begin to sense the whole of your body again.
The weight of you,
The warmth of you,
The simple miracle of you breathing.
Or the universe breathing through you.
Bring one hand now to your heart if that feels right for you.
And just let yourself receive,
Just for a moment,
Whatever this time has offered you.
However small,
However quiet.
And one more time,
Let these words land wherever they need to land.
Everything is going to be okay.
Begin now to deepen your breath.
Gently wiggle your fingers and toes.
And let a little more awareness return to the room around you.
Just take your time.
And when you're ready,
Slowly open your eyes.
And remember,
Everything is going to be okay.
Thank you.
