Welcome and good morning,
However you've woken up today,
Whether that's with a heavy mind,
A racing heart or a lingering sense of unease,
This space is to hold you just as you are.
You don't need to change anything straight away,
You've already done something kind by pressing play.
Let's begin with a breath,
I invite you to take a slow,
Steady inhale through your nose and when you get to the top gently exhale through your mouth,
Let's do that again,
Deep but gentle inhale in through your nose and out through your mouth,
Allow your shoulders to drop just a little,
Whether you're seated or lying down still in your bed,
Allow your jaw to soften and let your hands rest lightly wherever they are,
Wherever feels comfortable for you,
This morning we're not trying to fix or force anything,
There's no pressure and no expectations,
We're just softening the edges and giving your nervous system a little moment to breathe.
Now gently bring your awareness to the base of your spine or any points of contact between your body or whatever is supporting you,
Whether that's your chair you're sitting in,
Your bed or maybe a yoga mat beneath you and just take a moment to feel that grounding,
You were here and you were safe and supported in this moment,
Just let your breathing,
Just let it be its natural rhythm,
Let it move and flow naturally,
Like waves arriving on the shore,
No need to control,
Just observing,
Inhaling in,
I welcome this new day and exhaling,
I don't need to do it all at once,
Just let that settle into your body and I just let you to know that you're not behind,
You're not late,
You're meeting yourself where you are and that is always enough,
You don't need to leap out of bed and conquer the world,
You just need to begin,
I'm going to say some affirmations and I'll leave space if you'd like to repeat them,
Whether out loud or in your mind or simply just let them wash over you,
I am allowed to move gently this morning,
I am grounded even if my mind feels unsettled,
I trust myself to take the day one moment at a time,
Let's take one more deep and gentle renewing breath together,
Inhaling through your nose and when you reach the top,
Let you to gently sigh out through your mouth on the exhale,
Let your breathing come back to its natural rhythm and if you started with your eyes closed,
Just gently begin to blink them open ever so slowly,
Maybe noticing the light or the colors,
The space around you,
Maybe bringing a soft stretch into your body,
Maybe a big stretch with your arms overhead or a smaller stretch like wiggling your fingers,
Your toes and a small roll of your shoulders,
You're here and you've already begun,
You've completely given yourself a kindness this morning and I'm wishing you a calm and grounded day ahead.
