Daily practice for empaths to protect energy space. As empaths, it is vital to protect our energy daily whenever we may feel uneasiness or other emotions seeping in. I use this practice daily as well as right before speaking before a large group or heading out for a busy day.

Hi,

My name is Evelyn.

Thank you for joining me today.

I'd like to share a practice I use daily.

Surround,

Ground,

And shield.

As empaths,

It's important for us to protect our energy daily so that we don't take in any energy that we may be exposed to out in public or even within the web.

Find a comfortable seated position or you may do this standing.

Feel yourself surrounded in a white,

Beautiful light.

Feel it gently covering your body,

Creating an orb of protection and peace.

Feel your feet grounded into the earth,

Feeling roots shoot deep down into the earth along with the white protective light.

Feeling as the light dips deeply into the earth,

Into its warmest core.

Feel yourself shielded in armor covering your heart and solar plexus,

Feeling the energy of Archangel Michael surround and protect you.

Take a nice deep breath in,

Long breath out.

You are now protected.

This is a practice long forgotten for me. When I first got into recovery from an eating disorder… the whole spectrum my whole life in different forms…. Anorexia, then exercise bulimia to bulimia alone to binge eating disorder (I gained 55lbs in 3 months when I stopped the compensatory behaviors at first.) I am now 5 years free of ANY of these behaviors. I am almost completely free from throughts and compulsive feelings too. I have been in recovery 13 years now, with 2 severe relapses… so I’m very grateful for what I have today. Anyway, why am I sharing this? My theory is that eating disordered woman are empaths who haven’t found a way to survive and thrive in a sometimes heartless world. So we eat to sedate that anxiety, fear and deep emotional pain of feeling mistunderstood or called ‘’overly sensitive.’’ My inner anorexic tried to protect me as a child by numbing me out from trauma in my own home. Again, as an empath, she helped me survive the deep hurt and confusion. The exercise bulimic was a violence expressed towards myself instead of outward where it belonged. I have compassion for her now. At 50 years old, almost 51, this is my 2nd phase of life. I get to learn to EMBRACE all of this beautiful empathic loving energy in a world that feels so cruel and unforgiving. I get to turn away from the service work I’ve devoted my whole self to my whole life and turn it inward towards myself. So yes… I call this ‘’putting up my prayer shield’’ every day between every interaction… to surround myself with the sunlight of the spirit, keep myself protected and safe in a healthy way, and hold true to the part of me I love and treasure the most… the gift of empathy. Love this!! Something I always forget to do after meditating is to ground and protect my energy. Adding this to my daily routine!! ❤️❤️❤️
