Let's begin by taking a deep breath in through the nose and exhaling with a gentle sigh,
Allowing your body to settle into stillness.
Feel any last bits of tension begin to soften.
Once again,
Taking a deep inhale through the nose and exhaling gently out of the mouth,
As if you're releasing the day in one long stream.
Once again,
In through the nose and exhaling fully.
Now bring your attention to your feet.
Imagine them melting into the surface beneath you,
As if the muscles are dissolving into softness.
Let that sense of melting move upward into your legs,
And then your hips,
Your lower back,
All the places that have carried you today.
Moving further up the spine,
Into the chest,
Into the shoulders,
Each breath loosening the body more and more.
Imagine your whole body floating,
Held by a warm,
Gentle current.
Nothing to resist,
Nothing to manage,
Nothing to control.
The breath becomes quieter now,
A soft rhythm that soothes the nervous system.
Inhaling again through the nose and exhaling longer.
As you settle deeper,
Visualize the body lying in a peaceful field at dusk,
The sky dimming,
The air warm,
The world growing quieter.
Allow your body to feel that same sense of ease.
Taking this opportunity now to repeat gently in the mind,
I surrender to rest.
And together with me now,
Let's take one final deep breath in.
And let yourself drift into softness on the exhale.
