Welcome.
Please take a few moments to arrive.
And find yourself in a comfortable position,
Whether that is standing,
Sitting or lying down.
And take a few breaths to arrive,
To bring your attention into this moment,
This time,
And this practice of pulsing with the pain.
So it's really important that you give yourself the gift of being as comfortable as you can be.
With support.
As you enter into this practice.
And wherever you are,
Can you feel the full weight and shape and pulse of your body in its entirety?
Just allowing yourself to arrive.
And then very gently.
I invite you to turn your attention towards the place of pain or discomfort.
I'm going to invite you to accompany it for a few moments.
So this is a soft gaze or a soft attending rather than trying to go in to the center of it and do anything with it.
Simply noticing.
The pain is here.
Maybe it's got a particular size or shape or rhythm to it.
You're simply noticing it.
Maybe sitting off to the side with it.
And I'm going to invite you to notice any other place in your body.
That might actually not have pain or discomfort,
Or at least has less.
And take your attention gently there and notice what that feels like.
What's the felt sense of that part of your body that is less painful or at least more easeful.
Maybe it feels wonderful.
Just allowing your attention to rest in this place.
Gently taking your attention back.
To the place of discomfort or pain and simply,
Again,
Accompanying it for a few moments.
Noticing it,
Being with it without an agenda to fix it,
Change it.
Just being softly.
Attending.
And gently moving your attention back.
To that other place.
That is easeful.
Less painful.
I'm just noticing what's there,
Noticing what that feels like in this moment.
Gently,
One more time,
Coming back to touch in softly to the place of pain or discomfort.
Noticing what it's like now.
Maybe it's the same,
Maybe it's shifted in some way.
And then coming back to that place of ease.
Letting your attention rest there again.
And then gently spreading your attention to incorporate both.
The place of ease and the place of discomfort.
Just seeing if you can hold them both.
In your awareness gently.
Spreading your awareness back out.
To your whole body being.
And simply noticing your overall feeling.
The place of pain or discomfort,
What's happening there.
What else is happening in your whole body.
And if there's any shift or change,
Or if things are the same,
Simply noticing what's here now.
And if pulsing this way has been beneficial,
In any way.
And perhaps this is something to do on a regular basis.
Take some time here to rest.
Before going into the rest of your day or evening.
