There is often an illusion that life comes at us at a pace we can't control,
But life actually comes at us at a pace we choose.
It's not actual time and actual deadlines that we can extend,
But it's our perception of the passage of time and how quickly we feel it approaches us.
So when it feels like everything around us,
Tasks,
Projects,
And to-dos are coming at us fast,
How can we slow it down?
When we take pauses throughout the day to check in with ourselves and slow down our breathing,
Our heart rate slows down,
Then our thoughts slow down,
And the external world around us starts to slow down too.
This is a five-minute meditation that will allow your mind to slow down and your heart to enter into a space of calm during your busy day.
It's about recognizing and getting back to your own heart's desired pace and momentum.
Take a moment to get comfortable.
You may lay down or sit up.
Close your eyes and place your hands over your heart.
Take a moment to settle in.
Notice the beating of your heart in your chest.
Observe,
But do not judge.
Take a moment now to notice your breathing.
Again,
Just observe,
But do not judge.
Take a long,
Slow,
Deep breath in through your nose and then gently sigh it out with a long exhale.
Take another slow,
Deep breath in,
And again sigh it out with a long exhale.
Repeat this a few more times on your own,
And notice if there is a softening and a calming with each exhale.
Now just breathe naturally here.
I choose today to work,
To play,
And to live my day at the pace of my own heart.
I choose today to work,
To play,
And to live my day at the pace of my own heart.
I choose today to work,
To play,
And to live my day at the pace of my own heart.
Repeat this to yourself three times.
Gently place your hands in your lap or at your sides.
Place your palms facing up.
Accept the endless divine energy of love,
Calm,
And support as it fills your heart.
Thank you for meditating with me today.
Namaste.
