
The Love Meditation
Experience your ability to feel the emotion of Love. You have felt love at certain times in your life, and it is this feeling that is revived when you are touched by a beautiful love story, a romantic film that makes you cry, or touching family photos. The state one enters when feeling these emotions is ideal for creativity, play, healing, or peak performance.
Transcript
Take a moment and give your body permission to rest in a comfortable position,
Lying down or sitting comfortably,
And let yourself become consciously aware of the fact that at this moment in time there's nowhere you have to go.
There's nothing that you need to be doing,
And there's no problem that you have to solve,
And therefore you can allow yourself to relax.
Relax deeply.
Allowing this moment of silence and allowing yourself to go to your island of peace deep within,
And for a moment allow yourself to imagine that you actually believe,
Deeply believe that you know within you there is the gift of healing,
A power of love that can heal and inspire yourself and others,
A power that can enable you to create the future you most desire.
Take a deep breath in and as you let it out,
If you have not already done so,
Allow your eyelids to relax closed.
Good.
Picture the word love as though it's written there on the back of your forehead and breathe deeply into that place where you feel love,
And when your eyelids are so relaxed they don't want to open,
Test them and feel how relaxed and heavy they feel,
And let that feeling of relaxation flow out from your eyelids and spread throughout all the rest of your body,
Gentle,
Soothing,
Warm waves of peace and love,
Spreading outward like little ripples of relaxation flowing outward from your eyelids into your forehead and through the muscles of your scalp.
Relaxation flowing outward from your eyelids throughout all the muscles of your face,
Feeling the muscles around your mouth and your jaw muscles relax,
Your tongue and neck relaxing,
Soothing relaxation flowing through your shoulders and down through your arms,
Your elbows,
Your forearms,
Your wrists,
Relaxation flowing through your hands,
Down into your fingers,
And as that relaxation reaches your fingertips,
Take a deep breath in,
Draw that relaxation up through your arms into the center of your chest,
And as you let that breath out,
Let it be a complete feeling of letting go,
Letting the air breathe you,
And thinking with each breath out,
It breathes me,
Breathing relaxation through your abdomen and pelvis,
Your back,
Your lower back,
Down through your thighs and knees,
Your ankles and feet,
All the way down to the tips of your toes,
A feeling of peace and safety flowing throughout your entire being.
Good.
And whenever any unnecessary thoughts come along,
Simply let them float by,
Doubts,
Questions,
Judgments,
Concerns,
Thoughts about the past or the future,
Passing like ships in the night,
Because right now you are choosing to allow yourself to be here in this moment,
The only moment that actually exists,
Peaceful and calm,
And effortlessly allowing yourself to float through time as if you're floating on a magic carpet of relaxation and imagination,
Gently floating back to a very special moment in your life,
A time when you are deeply in touch with the feeling of love,
The warmth,
The tenderness,
The passion,
The closeness,
The oneness of that feeling of love.
Let your heart guide you and relive this experience as if it were happening right now.
Perhaps you can feel yourself being carried into a time of being with a very special person or an animal,
Or it may be a spiritual experience.
Let yourself travel to wherever your heart takes you,
Where you are deeply in touch with that feeling of love.
Perhaps it's a time when you're feeling a loving connection with a child,
Perhaps even that experience of seeing your own child for the very first time,
Or perhaps you revisit a time with a lover,
A cherished mate,
A dearly beloved friend,
A time of connecting deeply with the person you love,
Floating on your magic carpet to a time where you can feel that rich,
Beautiful,
Profound feeling of connection,
Passion,
Oneness,
And safety.
Float back to this place now and bring the scene in as vividly and as clearly as you can.
Imagine seeing the colors and shapes around you,
Hearing the sounds,
Feeling the textures,
The touching.
And as you do,
Let yourself feel the power and the beauty of this love even more deeply.
Feel the embrace of love,
An almost sacred feeling in your heart now.
And experience this moment as a gift,
A pure blessing,
And feel a deep sense of gratitude to the source.
And as you feel this wonderful feeling of oneness and reverence,
Anchor it in your being by gently touching your thumb and forefinger together on one of your hands.
And feel it as a reminder and a signal to be aware of this beautiful place within.
Good.
Continuing to allow the air to breathe you,
Sinking down into that pause after you breathe out and before the next breath comes in,
The quietest time of all for all your mind and body.
When you are closest to your essence and feel that little spark of energy that starts each new breath in,
Completely and utterly effortless.
The gift of breath breathes you,
The gift of life,
That little spark of love within,
The gift that begins life anew with each new breath,
Breathing in peace.
And again,
Give yourself that finger signal,
That anchor,
Touching your thumb and forefinger together,
And let yourself go even deeper into this love.
And with each breath out,
Feel your body,
Your whole being releasing what needs to be released,
Releasing stress and tension.
And imagine that spark starting each new breath is a doorway opening to that very deep love,
Perhaps even a spiritual love of something greater than yourself,
The spirit that moves through all things,
Or whatever you love and hold sacred,
Opening to let its love flow through you,
Allowing the spirit of this love to slowly lift that veil so you can begin to sense and feel even more fully what may not have been noticed before,
Your capacity to truly love and the courage to truly be the person that you came here to be and to live each moment with ever greater integrity.
And be open now,
To listen to the guidance from that deeper source at the center of your being,
Opening to receive the message,
Whether it comes as words,
A feeling,
Or a vision,
Opening to this guidance,
The teachings of love flowing into your very being,
And the enlightenment of the spirit that guides you gently beyond the polarity,
Duality,
Fear and anger,
Allowing you to experience the spaciousness the infinite possibilities for love and wholeness that lie within.
Good.
And any time you wish to center and empower yourself,
You can touch these fingers together and think back to this beautiful scene and think there is a deep reservoir of love within me.
And let yourself be aware that through this imagery and this finger signal you can intentionally use your selective awareness to strengthen that neural network that permits you to tune in to this power of love,
This gift.
And if you wish,
Give yourself permission to discover it in more and more places and to discover more and more why love is so important in your life and how it serves you and how you can serve it,
And how you can serve others through your ability to love,
To care,
To have empathy and compassion.
Sense deep within that place where you feel the love most strongly and imagine each breath breathes into it so that it grows stronger and feel that love as it spreads from that love center out into every other cell of your body all the way out to the tips of your fingers and the tips of your toes.
And allow yourself to imagine letting that energy of love overflow from your body.
Imagine letting it spill out and radiate flowing out of the very pores of your body and surrounding you like an aura flowing out to others around you healing white light from an infinite reservoir of love and healing flowing out the tips of your fingers and into whoever or whatever you touch flowing out in the sound of your voice and in the words your deeper mind chooses healing and making a whole all that are touched by this love that flows from within you.
Good.
And remember you can touch this place anytime you want to or need to.
And now as I count from one to five allow yourself to continue to feel your fundamental connection with love and fundamental oneness with all that you love and with this deeper spirit within.
One as you gently bring yourself back to an awareness of your physical body resting comfortably the feeling of the surface beneath you.
Two that little spark starting each new breath continuously reminding you of this deeper place within even as you become more aware of the space around you.
Three breathing a little more deeply with each breath in and in your own time and in your own speed reawakening to your physical location at this moment in time.
Four gently allowing your eyelids to open gently returning but always with the awareness of that essence deep within.
Five wide awake and yet deeply connected and alert and ready for what comes next still surrounded and protected by that love.
Allowing your eyelids to open.
