Undeniably,
This is going to reset and help you focus on what nourishes and soothes you.
Self-nourishment is inclusive of many different aspects of your life,
And certainly it includes self-care,
Self-kindness,
Self-honesty,
Self-discipline and self-governance,
Self-compassion,
Self-esteem and self-worth,
And of course self-love,
And the healthy behaviors and habits that encourage a consistent and beautiful expression of being that opens you to a next level of insight and self-awareness.
Here's a definition of self-nourishment that I hope you will lean into.
To self-nourish is to foster personal growth and the emotional,
Spiritual,
Physical and psychological support that you need to give yourself through your choices to live self-empowered and self-responsible.
For what you set in place becomes an even greater privilege to how you live your life.
Thoughtful,
Kind self-nourishment is the ongoing giving and receiving unto yourself.
What better time to lean into practice self-nourishment than in January,
A time when we also,
Depending where you are in the world,
You may be leaning into habits of hibernation,
Self-reflection.
For some we do a winter arc.
January is conducive to bringing inward focusing on self-nourishment,
Looking at what practices you need to sustain you,
And self-nourishment is going to allow you strength,
Resilience,
Fortitude,
And certainly the nourishment you need to be able to achieve the goals that you may have set for yourself,
Not only now but at all places in all times of your life.
I'm going to take you through a visualization here to help anchor the importance of self-nourishment and how actually you're quite good at it already.
It's just a matter of giving it to yourself.
Think about the ways that you nourish others with your kindness and care and love.
This may be such an easy and natural set of behaviors for you.
Now imagine the ways that you can do this for yourself.
As you step forward,
As you focus on self-nourishment this month,
Let these questions inspire you.
First,
Recall a thoughtful choice that you made recently that was self-nourishing.
It might have been having a nap.
It could have been taking an extra long walk.
It might have been enjoying a longer meditation,
Giving yourself more time to enjoy meditation.
It could be reading a book on your shelf that's been waiting for you,
Allowing more time to self-reflect,
To journal,
To think about your future,
Your goals,
What you need to do,
What you want to do.
How did it feel to do what was self-nourishing?
Sometimes self-nourishment is practice of self-discipline.
We know we need to do certain things to keep us healthy and strong and flexible and vibrant,
All two of which are still going to be nourishing for ourself.
How does self-nourishment feel?
As you reflect upon giving nourishment to yourself,
How does self-nourishment set you up for feeling empowered,
Positive,
Confident,
And loved?
How does self-nourishment allow you to show up in better ways for others and in your own life?
This is about being autonomous,
Being self-directed in your care,
Self-discipline in the steps needed to ensure that you are giving yourself the healthy expressions of love for all of time.
It also means you're leaning into yourself for what you need and to this being more aware and attentive to your needs and acting on those needs more quickly,
More presently.
And remember,
I'll be right here for you.
If you would like to reach out and have me help you,
If you would like to do some coaching or therapy at this time to hone you towards the greater life goals and dreams that you are working on,
I'll be right here to help.
Thank you.
Namaste.
