Thank you for joining me today.
I wanted to offer a meditation here on something that I've seen in my own life and in the lives of so many of my clients and that is that so many of us,
Me included,
Have struggled with giving ourselves permission for the kind of life that we want to live.
Permission to be happy,
Permission to have our dreams become realized,
Permission to be loving at the level that we want to be loving.
And so many other parts of our lives that are challenging and difficult at times.
It seems like when in my own life and in so many hundreds of my clients lives,
When we've come to a place of decision,
That the decision really comes down to giving ourselves permission.
So I'd like to offer this meditation here today about exploring that sense of permission while we meditate together.
So just find your comfortable position,
Either sitting up or lying down,
And take a few easy breaths.
Nothing strenuous,
Just nice and easy and allow your body to relax.
To simply calm down and feel those breaths as they roll out and you inhale back in and then they roll out again.
And as each exhale happens,
Feel yourself relax a little bit more and a little bit more.
And as your body relaxes,
Begin to feel your mind relax and your emotions calm down.
And you find your way into what I think of as our center.
The center of who we are.
A calm serene place within us.
So find your way into that sense of your center and feel that peace that's there.
Let yourself feel your center,
That place of peace for just a moment.
And then I want you to consider this idea of giving yourself permission.
What would it be like to actually give yourself permission to be happy?
What would it be like to give yourself permission to love yourself?
To hold yourself in high esteem and acceptance?
As you stay calm and serene in your center now,
Consider what it would be like to give yourself permission to be the person that you've longed to be.
To act with courage and clarity.
To no longer let old patterns of emotions or thoughts dictate how you are here and now in your life.
To take a stand for your own self,
For your own life,
And give yourself permission to be that kind of person that you most wish to be.
And then to allow that permission to expand outwards.
To give yourself permission to love the people in your world that you're close with,
That you care about.
To love openly,
To love big,
To share yourself and of your love.
What would it be like to give yourself permission to accept their love?
To accept compliments from other people,
To simply say thank you.
What could it be like to begin to give yourself permission to pursue your own dreams,
Your visions for your life,
Your aspirations?
For just a moment while you're in your center,
Feel this sense of yourself.
The sense of yourself giving yourself permission.
What does it feel like?
What are your thoughts about giving yourself permission?
Are you open to the idea?
Do you feel the old habits try to come up and shut that idea down?
Are you excited by giving yourself permission?
And here's an experiment that you could do now.
Just for a moment while you're in your center,
Say this to yourself.
I give myself permission to be happy.
I give myself permission to be at peace.
I give myself permission to no longer allow old thought and emotion habits to dictate how I'm going to live my life now.
Say to yourself,
I give myself permission to love as big as I want to.
I give myself permission to dance,
To feel my body,
To know my own spiritual life.
I give myself permission to have the life of my dreams.
Feel for a moment what that's like in your body,
In your heart,
In your mind,
In your belly.
What's it like to give yourself permission?
What does it feel like?
And if you could feel it for just a moment even,
That's an opening.
That's a step forward.
So I invite you to spend one more moment thinking about what it will be like to give myself permission to live the life that I truly wish to live.
How would I show up in such a life?
How would I show up as that best person,
The best version of me?
And what would be a few steps that I could take now to have permission become a practice that I take on?
A practice that I act on every day to give myself permission.
Hold this idea in your center for one more moment and see if you can feel,
If you can give yourself permission to feel a sweet inner smile when you think about living your life in this way.
Just feel that smile.
You might even feel corners of your mouth turn up just a little bit.
There's no need to wait for anybody else anymore to give you permission to live this life.
It's totally up to you.
I invite you to do just that,
To give yourself permission starting now from your center to live the life that you've longed to live.
And my friend,
You have my total support to give yourself all the permission in the world to live the life of your greatest dreams.
