Take Back Your Life
We all struggle. We all stumble and fall. And the problems that take us down can sometimes take control. This meditation will help you to reclaim your own power in the face of such issues, and remember how strong you truly are. And then, take back your life, so your life is in your hands, once again.

Thank you so much for joining me again.
This meditation will be on taking back your life.
For so many of us we've had difficulties with challenges and problems and issues,
Whether those problems exist in the realm of relationships or our inner life of emotions and thoughts or the problems might exist within our work lives or financial lives.
It might exist within our sense of our own purpose or our own desires.
Some of us struggle with issues like addictions,
Whether those are substance addictions or things like pornography or relationship addictions.
We no longer feel like we are in charge of our own lives within relationships.
So this meditation is about taking back your life,
Finding your way back to your own sense of what's best for you,
Your own courage to be able to make such decisions to stay on track with what's best and your own best wisdom to find it,
Locate it,
And keep it.
So we can move into the meditation now.
So just find your way into a comfortable position,
Uncross your arms and legs,
Unless you're sitting in lotus of course.
You can lie down too if you'd like.
And as you settle into your own best position,
Just feel your body begin to relax.
Feel the sense of your own relaxation begin to grow,
To slow down,
To calm down,
And take a nice easy breath in and out.
Inhale and exhale nice and gently.
And as you exhale,
Feel that relaxation stretch from your body into your thoughts,
So that your thoughts slow down.
Your thoughts come to an easier pace.
Take another breath and as you inhale,
Feel your emotions and as you exhale,
Allow those emotions to calm down.
Allow your feelings to calm,
To be quieter,
To feel at ease.
And then one more breath,
Inhale and exhale.
And as you exhale,
Find your way to your center,
That place within that's still and quiet and calm.
The center of your being that's been there all along.
You can never lose it.
It's always with you.
And for just a moment,
Sit in your center and feel that tranquility that's there.
And then bring into your imagination any issues or problems,
Any thinking or emotional habits that have become problematic like anxieties or depressions.
Any problematic situations in relationships or in your work life.
If you have any issues with money or any other aspects of life,
Or something is in the way,
At feeling in charge of this area of your life.
And just for a moment,
Imagine those issues that take you away from your own power,
Your own sense of empowerment.
Take a look at these issues that you're imagining.
You can put them up on a screen in your mind,
Or you can imagine the actual feelings,
The actual thoughts.
But take a look at them,
Experience them,
And see if you can feel the ripple effects of these issues,
These problems.
And how the ripple effects impact you.
What they make you think about yourself.
How they push you into holding yourself as less than and not enough.
What the effects might be in your relationships.
Perhaps you've been short with people,
Or impatient,
Or judgmental.
Perhaps you've been distant and hiding aspects of yourself.
See what the effects are on your own happiness,
Your own self-acceptance.
How have these problems impacted you?
And just allow yourself to feel their impact for just a moment.
Feel the pain of that,
The suffering,
The difficulty within yourself.
How have these issues rippled out into your network of friends and family?
And maybe come through your network.
How have they affected your work life?
Even your sense of your own future?
And they made you despairing about what's possible for you in life.
Just imagine those ripple effects that we've all felt when problems take over.
And sit with them for just one more moment.
And now imagine the times when you have refused to cooperate with these issues,
With these problems.
Think back on those moments where you've stood your ground and not let problems take over.
Where you've spoken up.
Where you felt love for other people and acceptance for them.
Think of the times when you practiced self-care for yourself.
Holding yourself in love and knowing what's best for you.
Think about those times when you've stood up and through your best wisdom made really good decisions for yourself.
Think about how you've refused to go along with the normal control and trajectory of these problems in your life.
And then how did you do that?
How did you stand up for yourself?
For your own most cherished sense of who you are as a person?
How did you stand up for love between you and other people when arguments or trouble comes into play?
How did you forgive?
And how did you access your best wisdom in moments when you made really good decisions for yourself?
How did you do these things that are so empowering for you?
Think about it for just a moment longer.
These times when you have stood up for yourself in the face of these problems and issues and took back your life.
And then finally,
What does this mean about you that you could do this?
What kind of person stands up for themselves like that?
What sort of person practices self-care the way you did?
What do other people think about you when you do such good things for yourself and when you make such wise decisions?
What kind of person does that?
What kind of person takes back their life the way you did?
Hold that person in your heart for just a moment.
Those qualities,
That wisdom,
The courage,
The fortitude and determination that has gotten you through so much in your life,
So many difficulties,
And you just kept coming back to persevere.
Hold that person in your heart and realize that you already know how to take back your life because you've already done it hundreds,
Thousands of times.
When you've made the best decision possible,
When you've accessed your best wisdom,
When you've accepted yourself for simply who you are and loved and forgiven other people,
When you stopped addictions from running your life,
When you knew that just as you are you are enough.
Hold this sense of yourself for just one more moment and feel how good it feels to have your life back in your own hands once again.
We'll begin to come out of the meditation now,
But remember this feeling.
Hold on to this feeling of yourself,
Of your own wisdom,
Your own courage,
Your own ability to make decisions that are best for you and for everyone concerned.
Hold on to that sense of yourself and bring it with you into your day today.
We'll come out of the meditation now,
So come back into the room where you're lying down or sitting.
Come back into your body and back into this time and when you're ready open your eyes.

Thank you! This was like coming home after being a little lost. With the enormity of all the conflict surrounding us, we tend to allow it to affect us in ways that don't serve us well. Evoking feelings of discord and discontent, losing focus on oneself and what is needed in our lives. We tend to get lost...

Thank you, Don. That was another beautiful wise talk. In one of those situations, I had to leave a major university program I was in because I was so ill but my family didnโt believe in self-care so they turned against me and have treated me like the black sheep ever since. Iโm very grateful I have your words by my side for whenever I need them๐๐๐ Your tracks are so amazing. You could put them all in a book!

Straightforward and just what I needed. I have been feeling like my life has been living me, rather than me living my life. But itโs good to be reminded I can turn this around, and I have done it before.
