Welcome to this Breathe Light practice where we'll focus on the biomechanics of functional breathing.
In this practice we'll focus on expanding our awareness into the rib cage and into the diaphragm as we breathe.
Let's start by finding a comfortable seated position,
Allowing your body to relax and your mind to settle.
Bringing our attention to our breath,
Take a deep inhale through the nose,
Filling your lungs with fresh air,
And as you exhale through the nose,
Release any tension or stress you may be carrying.
If you'd like to bring more awareness into the rib cage,
You can bring your hands to wrap around the ribs with the thumbs reaching for the back of the rib section.
As you inhale,
Bring the air deep into your lungs,
Feeling the rib cage expand laterally.
As you breathe out,
Feel your ribs moving inwards.
With each inhale,
Imagine a gentle expansion in these areas,
Allowing your breath to reach deep within you.
Feel the ribs gently widen,
The intercostal muscles stretch,
And the diaphragm lower.
As you breathe in,
Feel your ribs expanding outward.
As you breathe out,
Feel your ribs moving inward.
There's no need to hear your breathing during this exercise.
Keep the breath LSD,
Light,
Slow,
And deep.
Continue to breathe so light,
Keeping your attention into the rib cage and onto the belly.
Notice the subtle sensations of expansion and release.
With each breath,
Allow yourself to go deeper into the experience,
Embracing a sense of spaciousness and openness within.
As we continue this practice,
Remember to let go of any expectations or judgments.
Simply surrender to the rhythm of your breath,
Trusting in its innate wisdom.
Let's take a few more moments exploring this practice.
As you breathe in,
Feeling the rib cage expand laterally.
And as you exhale,
Releasing any tension or resistance,
Allowing your breath to guide you towards a deep state of relaxation and inner calm.
One hand onto your belly now and keeping one hand on your chest or rib cage.
Begin to follow the flow of air in the body.
With every inhale,
Your belly expands,
Rib cage expands,
Upper chest expands.
And as you exhale,
Letting everything go.
The breath stays throughout the nose in this practice.
Continue to feel the airflow traveling through the body,
Filling up the lungs,
Bringing awareness into the diaphragm,
Into the belly,
Into the rib cage.
Noticing the expansion and contraction,
The dance of the life force within you,
Allowing yourself to totally surrender into this flow.
And come back to a regular breath.
Come back to a regular breath whenever you're ready.
