Our world today is in chaos because of the corona pandemic.
Everybody is confused,
Concerned,
And we all don't know what to do.
But I believe times like these call for pressing into God and going to Him in prayer.
And so today I want you to join me as we pray for our world,
As we petition God to heal the world and to hear our prayers.
First I'd like to read something from the book of Psalm,
Psalm 46.
It says,
God is our refuge and strength,
An ever-present help in trouble.
Therefore we will not fear,
Though the earth give way,
And the mountains fall into the heart of the sea.
Let us pray.
Father,
We come to you today in humility with all our fears,
Broken pieces of our lives,
And every challenge that we face today.
Lord our world is in turmoil and chaos because of this pandemic.
And Father,
We are finite beings with limited understanding.
We don't know what to do,
Which word to turn.
And so Father,
We run to you.
As your word says in Psalm 46,
That you are a present help in time of trouble.
And so Father,
We reach out to you today.
If there was ever a time that we needed you the most,
Lord it is now.
Father forgive us for all the times that we have acted in arrogance and in ways that seem to suggest that we don't need you.
Because we're perhaps securing our jobs and our economy is strong and everything seems to be going so well for us.
But Father,
We come to you today in humility and we ask for your forgiveness.
And Father,
We declare that our very existence and the very life we live is dependent on you.
Without you we are nothing.
You,
That we have our being and we move and we do everything.
So Father forgive us and heal our land,
Lord.
Father,
We pray that you take this chaos and restore sanity into our world.
We pray for those that have been affected by this pandemic.
That Father you reach out and touch them,
Lord.
That you heal them,
That you comfort them,
Those with broken hearts,
Father we pray.
That you bring comfort to them.
That you let them know that in spite of all this chaos,
You're still with them.
Father,
We pray for everybody.
We pray for all nations.
We pray for all people all over the world.
That you touch and bring hope into our despairing world.
Heal our land,
Lord.
Heal our land.
Restore sanity.
Restore sanity,
Lord.
Father,
We know that you care for us.
And so in this time of trouble we call on you.
We know you hear us.
So take away every fear.
Take away every anxiety.
Take away every heavy heart and put in your peace.
Let us experience your joy even in the midst of this turmoil.
Heal our land,
Lord.
Heal our land.
That at the end of this whole thing,
Lord,
You'd get the glory out of it.
That our hearts would be turned to you.
That you'd be the center of our attention.
That we'll focus on you,
Jesus.
Father,
Heal our land and bring peace to every soul that is troubled.
We thank you.
We give you glory.
We know you're listening to us.
We know you care about us.
We thank you.
