We'll move into a practice of cultivating gratitude.
And generosity.
And just beginning by finding a comfortable posture.
You're welcome to be sitting or laying,
Whatever's comfortable.
For you in this moment.
Closing your eyes if you like or If that's not comfortable,
Maybe finding a soft gaze or an object of focus.
However you're sitting or laying,
Just allow.
.
.
Yeah.
Posture to be alert,
Although not tense.
Allowing,
If possible,
For a little relaxation.
And bringing the awareness to the breath.
Breathing in that nurturing,
Allowing for a little generosity to the body.
On the in-breath,
Just breathing in a breath of nurturing.
Support.
And on the out-breath.
Breathing out thoughts of goodwill and goodness for others,
And all in the world.
Just being with the breath and breathing with that generosity for the body and for others.
And maybe beginning to include a little gratitude.
For the breath.
Or in the breath.
Gratitude for all the plants and trees that create oxygen.
For us to nourish the body as we breathe in.
And as we breathe out,
Reciprocating the generosity of all the plants and trees,
As we provide them with carbon dioxide.
To nourish them.
Just being with the breath,
Allowing it to be natural and breathing.
With the gratitude and generosity of the symbiotic relationship we have with all the plants and trees on the earth.
Recognizing some gratitude and generosity towards yourself.
Some gratitude for the practice that we're doing.
And the generosity of giving yourself this time.
To do the practice.
Sharing that gratitude and generosity to ourselves and for our practice.
As Jon Kabat-Zinn says.
The mindful attitudes of gratitude and generosity are interconnected.
They're interdependent on one another and work together.
Having a little gratitude for our interconnectedness,
As Thich Nhat Hanh calls it,
Our interbeing.
And recognizing the generosity.
With whatever we contribute to allow the world to function.
In some way.
Even if we may consider or think of it as small.
We all contribute to the moving and working of the world.
And our community in some way.
Which in turn,
Of course,
Is a large part of the function.
Of the world.
Some gratitude for one another as we sit together in this practice.
The generosity we give to Create this space.
In order to practice.
Some gratitude for all those around the world who may be sitting,
Unbeknownst to us,
In practice at this time as well.
Gratefully and generously breathing together.
All interconnected in our practice.
And allowing for some gratitude.
To Mother Earth.
For providing us All that we need to live and nourish ourselves.
And doing so,
And providing us with so much beauty.
UGH!
And wonder.
In order to live out our experience of life.
And in hopes that we generously.
.
.
Do our best to try and take care of Mother Earth.
Through our awareness.
And how we live.
And as we near the end of the meditation.
.
.
Coming back for a few moments to the gratitude and generosity of the breath.
And beginning to find a little movement in the body.
Wiggling the fingers and toes.
Stretching if the body feels like it needs it.
Opening your eyes.
And returning to your space.
