Reality Shifting Through The Seasons: Bedtime Tale
by Dan Jones
This is a bedtime story for grown-ups about a hermit crab who encounters rock-playing frogs who create a reality-shifting portal. The crab is drawn into that portal, they find themselves on the other side of the portal as an eagle. They fly through the seasons as an eagle, before getting a lift to a marshmallow castle by a carrier pigeon. In the castle, the floor is springy, they touch the petals of a yellow rose, which transports them to autumn. In autumn, they are back as that eagle, flying over an autumnal forest, seeing someone baking a cosy cake in their cabin in the forest, before passing through another portal and finding themselves on a rugged coastline of cliffs and rocks in winter, with someone sitting by a campfire and a dreamcatcher. They fly down through a portal created by the dreamcatcher to return underwater as the crab, where they meet a catfish who was behind this magical experience. They get a new shell and settle down into Slumberland with new learnings.
