The Two Wings Of Spirituality

Walking this path of freedom and awakening is not about the spiritual aspect of life. It is not only about us having profound insights and realizations about the nature of God and Life. But it is just as much about us allowing for the healing of the human aspect of who and what we are so that we may be ever-expanding embodiments of love, peace, joy, harmony, and abundance. Blessings and welcome to the path to freedom name is Daniel Rokio and I'm glad that you're here I'm grateful that you're choosing to tune in that you're choosing to participate that you're choosing to spend a moment in raising your vibration and expanding your consciousness this is such a beautiful path this path of freedom this path of awakening where we continuously get to not only allow but revel in and witness as more joy and harmony and wholeness and abundance and beauty and intelligence and creativity flows through our lives and emerges from within the depth of our beings so I am very grateful that you're here to share this moment to participate in this space today we are talking about the two wings of spirituality the two wings of spirituality and perhaps you've heard me say that someone once shared with me that walking this path is like a butterfly how a butterfly for it to do what it's called to do fulfill its mission to flutter around and to I don't know what a butterfly does it's I mean they're beautiful and they're magnificent and they are royal in every kind of way but in order for that to be that it needs two wings and these two wings they need to be equally balanced if one wing were to be injured or damaged if one wing were to be underdeveloped if one wing was to be I don't know what else could happen to butterfly swings I don't know but you get the point right they need to be balanced they need to be equally strong and they need to be equally functional and walking this path of awakening and freedom it's exactly the same so the one wing would be the spiritual aspect of this incarnation that we're having the other wing would be the human aspect of this incarnation that we're having and both are equally important we cannot turn our attention toward one of the wings and giving that wing our all and then leave the other wing to wither to atrophy you know because then we're gonna be walking around limping spiritually speaking we may be perhaps masters in calling something into manifestation or way we will develop different spiritual qualities but as human beings we may not be that loving we may not be that kind we may not be that peaceful we may not be that harmonious on the other hand if we develop the human aspect that wing that particular wing and leave the spiritual wing we're gonna perhaps move around as self-loving individuals but we may still be in fear we may still be in worry we may still be in doubt we may still be in a space of not being able to call that much into our experience in terms of manifestation so we need both these wings to be shining our light at the brightest be at the most luminous that we can be and obviously as there's no end game on this path there's no final destination our light just keeps getting brighter and brighter and brighter our luminosity just keeps glowing more and more and more so it's not that we've finally made it at one point we're not arriving at any particular destination but it's an ongoing process it's a from one level to the next level to the next level to the next levels and so went on and on and on and on and this eternal journey that we're on but today we're turning our attention toward these two wings and we're gonna explore a little bit what it means what does the spiritual wing entail and what does it mean to develop the human wing or the human aspect these are in no particular order but we're gonna be begin with a spiritual wing today if I was to do this talk tomorrow maybe we would begin with a human wing but today it's the spiritual wing so what does it mean to wake up as a spiritual being well obviously as it is called spirituality and as we're spiritual beings it means that we wake up to who and what spirit is who and what God is who and what the universe is or infinite love or whatever name or label we want to give it we're here to wake up to that we're not just isolated human beings walking around completely separated from everyone else and you know when we die that's it that's not really what happens that's not how it is but there's one mind there is one presence that is all that is everywhere that is in all things and all things and beings and moments and spaces and experience are in this one presence I choose to call it God we can choose whatever name resonates with us we can choose whatever name we feel comfortable with but it is about us waking up to realize the nature of God the God first of all is all it's omnipresent it's infinite it's eternal it has no beginning it has no end it is every star it is every coin it is every grain of sand it is every it is the silence it is the stillness it is the birds it's the feather of the bird it's the the sweater that I'm that I'm wearing it's the it's this body it's the air that we breathe it's it's it's all it's all there's not God and something else there's no power outside of spirit or opposing spirit but spirit is all God is all right and this one loving presence it is truly loving it is truly good it's truly benevolent which means that it is always for itself it is always in a state of giving and given this it cannot ever contradict itself it cannot ever go against itself it cannot ever compromise itself it cannot ever diminish itself but it is always for itself oh let me back up to the oneness to the omnipresence of God so that means that we and God are one if God is all that there is and we are God is and we are it means that we are one so there is an absolute oneness to God there's an absolute unity to spirit so first of all we recognize that God is all that spirit is all and then we come into the realization that hey as God is all it must mean and it does mean that I am one with this one just like the wave is always one with the ocean the wave is not ever separate from the ocean each wave is unique there are no two waves that are exactly the same but each wave is unique but there's still one it's the ocean is one large body and then there are all these unique and perfect waves expressing giving a uniqueness to the ocean but each wave and each drop of water if we want to break it down even more carries all of the qualities of water so no wave no drop of water is different from any other drop of water in terms of quality they're all wet they're all you know salty if it's the ocean they're all they have that's not a quality I was gonna say that they have the same temperature but that's not really quality but once again I trust that you get the point and so it is with with us and God that as God is love and we are God it means that we are love each and every single one of us love is inherent within us as God is peace and we're one with God it means that we are peace peace is inherent within us as God is joy and we and God are one it means that we are joy joy is inherent within us we may not see it we may not feel it we may not be aware of it we may not even believe it but it doesn't matter it's still so if we we would begin to talk about the the human wing the human aspect when we begin to observe the thought forms and beliefs that we're having the limited ones and begin to peel them off begin to embrace and allow them so that they can be dissolved and healed and released and let go of that joy emerges that peace emerges that love emerges the abundance emerges the beauty emerges the creativity emerges we cannot not walk along this spiritual path doing the inner work and not have these qualities begin to emerge it's no impossibility so that's that's a little bit about what it is to to have the spiritual wing of the human incarnation we need to invest time in in practice obviously meditation prayer study hanging out in high-minded fellowship affirmations all of these sacred silence all of these practices that we have we need to invest in them we need to spend some time with them making them a habitual ways of our lives so that we continuously get to open our minds so that we continuously get to expand our consciousness coming into a greater and grander deeper wider and higher realizations as to this beautiful nature of who and what we are all right and then we have the human aspect the human aspect because we're all here as human beings a human being is not all that we are but we are a human being we're having this incarnation we get to choose our experience here on this planet and many of us we we don't come into this world with small and limited beliefs we're not coming into this planet we're not born with a sense of not being enough with the sense of not having enough but these are stories and beliefs that are added on to who and what we are by our upbringing by our guardians or caretakers or parents or whatever the case may be because of their unresolved their ways of being I'm not gonna put a label on it because of their ways of being we kind of come to believe that I am not enough I need to be in a certain way I need to perform I need to produce I need to achieve in order to be loved in order to be respected in order to to have my needs met so we as we grow up we learn all these beliefs and we learn all these stories that speak to us not being enough and that there's lack and scarcity in the world at large right so as we mature doing this spiritual work a lot of it is looking at these beliefs placing them on the altar of our consciousness placing them in the light of our awareness look at them not deny them not judge them not criticize ourselves not beat ourselves up for having them or for being run by them but just being very honest loving and kind towards ourselves saying hey this is what I believe this is how I operate this is how I move through life I'm realizing that I am moving through life with the sense of not being enough and so in our mind all my relationships in everything I do I do it to get love I do it to feel worthy to feel good enough so we get to look at these and as we look at them as they come into the light of our awareness just by them being there they begin to dissolve and as we embrace and allow them which simply means that we allow them we give them permission to be we give them permission to be which does not mean that we grab on to them which does not mean that we hold on to them but we just we're just saying that hey this is what is this is what is right now I'm choosing as I'm becoming aware of what is I get to choose whether or not I want to keep being run by this belief of this story or if I want to create a new narrative for my life for myself so we get to go deeper and deeper and deeper into cultivating a deep and profound sense of self love where we come to the realization that we are enough that we are worthy yes we do make mistakes and mistakes another way word for mistake is simply falling forward every failure is simply us falling forward or a mistake is only a misstep we acted from what we believe was the best course of action from our current awareness we did what we thought was best to do in retrospect looking back we perhaps realized that I could have chosen something else and that would have been in more alignment in higher alignment with what I wished to experience but now I did choose what I chose that's all good I've learned my lesson no need for me to beat myself up no need for me to criticize myself no need for me to call myself a bunch of names or put me down but I get to embrace and allow who I am and keep moving forward keep growing keep learning keep expanding so the profound sense of self love and with that also comes hey I am worthy of living a good life I am worthy of surrounding myself with loving individuals I am worthy of living a life that is free of toil and struggle that is free of hard work obviously there's work to do but in it doesn't have to be hard work I we get to free ourselves from fear and worry and doubt we get to free yourself from all of these that keeps us in check that keeps us small that keeps us right where we are which is what the ego does the egos primary job and task is for us to stay put so that we don't grow so that we don't expand so that we don't unfold all this to say that as we're walking this beautiful path we do need to turn our attention to both of these wings so that we just like the butterfly may be able to soar may be able to fly may be able to shine our light to be beneficial presences on the planet in ever greater and grander ways we need to turn our attention toward the spiritual aspect of life we need to turn our attention toward the human aspect of life allowing for that which no longer serves to be brought to the surface where we can release and let it go so that's something new something greater something more expanded may emerge from within us a new iteration of who and what we are a new expression of who and what we are a new version of who and what we are continuously continuously over and over so this is when I'm whenever you hear me speak about the two wings of spirituality this is what I'm referring to spiritual wing thank you so so much for tuning in for participating for listening until the next time I absolutely
