This spiritual practice is part meditation and part prayer. It invites us to explore our connection to both our community and the world around us. It offers a quiet space to cultivate inner peace and serenity while mindfully navigating our thoughts, feelings, actions, and words. Through this practice, we honor those around us, recognizing that everyone experiences suffering. With this understanding, we strive to approach all beings with kindness and gentleness.

Welcome.

This meditation is about kindness,

Compassion,

And community connection.

It's about honoring ourselves and others and recognizing our place in the world.

It is a very intentional meditation.

So I invite you at this time to get comfortable,

Either seated or lying down.

And,

If you're comfortable doing so,

Closing your eyes.

We begin by gently breathing in and breathing out,

Allowing our breath to find a nice,

Gentle rhythm,

Giving ourselves permission to sit in this quiet space,

Knowing there's nowhere we need to go and nothing else we need to be doing except being present in this moment.

I'm going to give a few cues and there will be some long pauses in between.

In those spaces,

Allow the words to sink in,

Allow yourself to cultivate the feelings suggested in the words.

As I breathe in,

I invite peace and serenity.

As I breathe out,

I offer peace and serenity to those around me.

As I breathe in,

I invite peace and serenity.

As I breathe out,

I offer peace and serenity to those around me.

As I breathe in,

I welcome love and compassion.

As I breathe out,

I send love and compassion to the world.

As I breathe in,

I welcome love and compassion.

As I breathe out,

I send love and compassion to the world.

May my thoughts be positive.

May my heart be loving.

May my words be kind.

May my actions bring peace.

I honor my connection with the world through my breathing and my actions.

I honor my connection with the world through my breathing and my actions.

I honor my connection to my community and to the world.

I may never fully know the suffering of those around me.

Therefore,

May every interaction be one of kindness and gentleness.

Allow your mind to rest.

Breathing in and breathing out.
