Welcome to this meditation for everyday calm.
I'm Danielle and I'll be guiding you through today's practice.
This meditation can be done every day,
Every week,
Or any time that you are in need of a little bit more calm in your life.
So let's get to today's practice.
Start by finding a comfortable meditation seat.
Once you've arrived in your seat,
Taking a few gentle movements forward and back from side to side,
Or any movements that you need to release tension anywhere in your body.
Allowing these first few moments before you begin your meditation practice to be intuitive,
To notice exactly what your body needs.
And once you've settled into your meditation posture,
Beginning to draw your awareness inward,
Beginning to become aware of your breath.
Noticing the way that your breath is moving through you today.
Is it slow and steady?
Or fast and a little bit choppy?
Without judgment,
Just beginning to notice the way that your natural breath is moving through you.
And as you begin to become aware of your breathing,
Starting to allow an evenness to happen in the breath.
Allowing your inhales and your exhales to be just about the same length.
Allowing your breaths to get fuller and deeper,
And more nourishing with each breath cycle that passes.
Feeling the breath come in through your nose,
Into your throat,
Filling up your lungs and your ribcage,
And moving down into your belly.
And as you exhale,
Feeling everything release,
Feeling a sense of calm and centering.
And as you become a little bit more aware of your breath,
Beginning to notice the way that your body moves with your breath.
Just noticing all of the areas that expand with each inhale,
Even those that may expand just subtly.
And as you exhale,
Feeling everything come back into center.
Just feeling that perfect dance of the breath as it moves through your body.
With a heightened sense of awareness now in both your breath and your body,
Beginning to invite in a little bit more intention to your breaths.
So as you inhale,
Inhaling peace,
Calm,
And trust.
And as you exhale,
Allow yourself to release stress,
Anger,
And worry.
Inhaling peace,
Calm,
And trust.
Exhaling fear,
Anger,
And worry.
And just continuing to breathe like this for the next few moments.
Allowing each inhale to nourish you,
To bring you a little bit more ease.
And with each exhale,
Clearing out space so that you can realize that sense of calm that is always there.
Slowly beginning to release any words that you might be silently repeating in your head.
Taking a moment here to place your hands on your heart,
One on top of the other.
And sharing these words with yourself.
I choose to make space for calmness and peace in my mind,
Body,
And breath.
I choose to make space for calmness and peace in my mind,
Body,
And breath.
Spending a few final moments here,
Connecting with that deep space of inner peace that is always accessible to you.
Thank you so much for taking the time to meditate with me today.
May you be happy.
May you be healthy.
May you be at peace.
May you find your sense of calm.
Namaste.
