Does perfectionism hold you back? If so, you're not alone. I think it is one of the biggest forces dimming the light of our lives, yet one that is asking for compassionate tending. So I created this meditation to help you release your perfectionism with gentleness and remember that you are not a project to perfect, but already whole, a living, breathing work of art. I hope it will dissolve the inner blocks that keep you from moving forward and seeing yourself and your life with the reverence they deserve. Music by Solitude Sessions.

If there's one force that dims the light of our lives,

It's perfectionism.

Like a quiet undertow,

It keeps us swimming harder and harder,

Pulling us away from the shore of contentment.

It traps us in this exhausting loop of fixing,

Editing,

And doubting,

Blinding us to the beauty and wholeness already present.

So,

I created this meditation to help you release your perfectionism with compassion and remember that you are not a project to perfect,

But already a living,

Breathing work of art.

I hope it will dissolve the inner blocks that keep you from moving forward and seeing yourself and your life with the reverence they deserve.

Enjoy.

Break open this meditation by taking the deepest breaths you have taken in your day.

Let these breaths be your guides back home to yourself and follow their lead.

Take a few moments to land back into yourself and feel the peace that arises with this homecoming.

Unclench your jaw.

Let all the tiny muscles on your face just melt down.

Allow all the striving held in your body,

All the habit energy of chasing,

Measuring up,

And fixing to release from your shoulders,

Down your back,

Down your pelvis,

And down your legs.

Allow your arms to drop any weight they've been carrying and just surrender to gravity,

Allowing your hands to rest on your lap.

Let your body soften like tall grass bending in the wind.

Release yourself from the tide of comparison and just return to yourself as it is,

The soft animal body of yours that's now gently rising up and down with every breath.

Let your breath be enough.

Let your heartbeat be enough.

Let the simple fact that you are here be enough.

Can you see how your perceived flaws come from mental constructs?

What would happen if you stopped labeling them as bad or ugly?

Can you begin to entertain that they too are perfect the way they are?

Allow the space between you and these limiting ideals start to widen as you loosen yourself from their grip.

Allow contentment to start seeping through your being again,

Like trapped groundwater.

Feel into the inherent wholeness and perfection of this moment,

Of who you are right now,

Of where you are in your becoming.

Can you see how your need to show up perfectly comes from these tender fears,

Like the fear of rejection?

Take a few moments and send some love to these fears that are upholding your perfectionism in order to protect you.

Send some compassion to your tender self that at one point internalized a story that you were not enough and needed to overcompensate to prove your worthiness.

See yourself through the most loving eyes of your highest self.

What do you see now without the dust of labels or ideals covering up your vision?

Take a moment to honor yourself and your life.

Here is what I've learned on my journey.

The world doesn't need your perfection.

It just needs your presence.

It is an honor for the world to see and receive you.

Thank you for being and know that I am rooting for you.

I'm Danen Lu.

Until next time.
