Become conscious of the freshness this moment is presenting you.
Through the night,
Your body has cleaned off all the buildup of yesterday,
So you can enter this day renewed and available to receive its sparkling possibilities.
Let go of any attachments you may be holding from yesterday and lean into the newness this morning offers.
This newness that's celebrated by birds with their song.
This newness that's glistening as dew on grass.
This newness that signals all has been forgiven.
Today is a complete second chance,
A blank canvas.
Take a moment to contemplate what that opens for you.
We're now going to travel down our body and open ourselves to receive the day with intention.
As we do,
Continue breathing from your belly.
Begin by softening all the hinges and furrows on your face,
Like your jaw,
Your eyes,
Your brows,
Your forehead,
And your skull.
Give yourself a smile for showing up today and feel proud of yourself for cultivating this practice.
Now gently greet your throat with your loving presence.
How will you speak today?
Will you speak with grace and presence or will you speak with reaction?
Let your mind tune your vocal cords so it aligns with your intention.
Let your shoulders soften.
Allow your arms to drop any weight you're already carrying into the day.
See if you can loosen any tight grip on life.
Open your clenched fists as if they were flowers receiving the first light of day.
Now move your attention down to your heart.
Your heart has been beating all through the night so you could rest and wake up to another day.
Greet it with some loving breaths of gratitude.
Feel its gentle reassuring pats inside your chest cheering you on and reminding you that you are worthy of life.
Moving down,
Feel the rise and fall of your belly with every breath.
Feel the warmth of your body that comes from being alive.
Kiss the back of your hands and marvel at the exquisite complexity and elegance of your body.
Allow your loving attention to flow down and relax the rest of your body.
Greeting your pelvis,
Your thighs,
Your knees,
Your ankles,
Making sure to greet each toe with reverence.
Now with your body relaxed,
Set an intention for your day.
This can be really simple.
For example,
A wonderful intention is to be present and not react.
Allow this intention to naturally arise and hold it in your heart for a few moments.
Give this intention an inner hug and imagine that it dissolves in your body.
We're gently going to open our eyes now.
Take a gentle overhead stretch and bring yourself back to your room.
