Daihishin Dharani (Traditional Chanting)
by Bion
Daihishin Dharani is a traditional dharani, chanted in many Soto Zen sanghas around the world, during morning service and on other occasions. It is the Dharani of the Great Compassionate Mind, and the story of its origins is that it is thought to have been a recitation of names and attributes of Harihara said to have been recited by Avalokiteśvara.
