Welcome to Cori's Stories. Are you ready to meditate with Cori? Are you ready to meditate with Cori? Climb up into your bed and get super comfortable. Make sure that you try and stay as still as you can as you listen to the story so you can relax your body and let go of your busy day. Tucker and Leo had been invited to go to a sheep farm. They were going to go with Gabby, Charlie, Adeline, Tyler and Claire. The whole idea of going to a sheep farm was so that they could how wool was processed so that they know how you get a woolly jumper or a sweater, Whichever you'd prefer to call it. They call them woolly jumpers in England and sweaters in the States. Either way, The wool, Most of it, Comes from sheep. When they got to the farm, The first thing that Tucker said was, Golly gosh, Leo is so smelly. Oh my goodness gracious me, I did not realize how smelly sheep were. Sheep are smelly. Tucker was trying to cover his nose with one of his paws. Unfortunately, It had been raining for a few days, Even though it wasn't raining on this day. Gabby and Charlie, Adeline, Claire and Tyler had all got their big wellington boots on so that they wouldn't get muddy and wet and disgusting as they went out into the fields to meet with the sheep. Tucker and Leo did not have boots on, So they kept getting their paws stuck in the mud. And because it had been raining, All the rain had mixed with the sheep's poop and things that was in the fields, And it was very, Very smelly. They were following a guide that was walking across the field, Taking them into the middle of the field where all the sheep were so that the guide could introduce everyone to the sheep. The guide was called Mary. She was a very jolly, Plump woman with bright red cheeks and a bright red nose, And she looked like she constantly lived outside scooping poop up and hay and cleaning and cleaning and cleaning forever and a day. But she was happy enough. Come on, Everyone. Stick with me. Claire was talking to Tyler about how disappointed she was. She thought they were going to be able to do sheep yoga, But when they got out there in the field and they realized how muddy and disgusting and smelly it was, Sheep yoga was probably not on the cards. Tyler said that he thought it was goats that you did that with, Goat yoga. And Claire said, Yes, It is, But why can't you do it with sheep? Tucker caught up to Claire and said, Oh, I'd like that. I'd like that a lot. I think it'd be really fun to do yoga with sheep, Massaging your back with the little hooves. It'd be so nice. I'd like to get like in downward dog, Which is my favorite pose because I'm a dog, Right? Get it? Claire and Tyler laughed. They got it. Leo said, There is no way, Absolutely no way would I let a sheep walk all over my back. No, Thank you. And I don't even know whether I'm allergic to sheep or not. In fact, This mud is already making me terribly itchy. He was trying to scratch down his legs with his paws, Pulling one up and scratching down it and then pulling the other one up and scratching down the other one. And every time he kept getting slopped and these sucky sounds kept coming out of the ground as if it was like quicksand underneath him, Sucking him in and sucking him up. Tucker said, I don't know how much more Leo can take of this. He looks a little bit stressed. Leo had frown lines all across his face. Whose idea was this anyway? Charlie put her arm up. Mine, Sorry, She said. I thought it'd be fun. And I've always wanted to know how the process of wool is made and all of that stuff. Mary introduced them to the sheep. There was about seven or eight sheep in the middle of the field and they were all baa, Baa, Baaing away, Talking to each other, But not talking to Tucker and Leo or the kids. In fact, They were quite aloof. Claire said, I thought sheep were friendly. Tucker said, They do not want to talk to us at all. I just went over to that one over there with all the clumps of dirt in its furry woolly stuff. And I said, Hello there. So you're the one that makes those nice woolly blankets that my mummy has on her bed. That sheep looked at me as if it was going to stab me in the eyes. And I said, What's wrong there sheep? And the sheep looked at me again and gave me the dirtiest look as if my mummy stole his fur. And I thought to myself, Is that what happens? So I said to the sheep, Do these people steal your fur? One of those sheep looked at me and twitched its eyes and its eyebrows got all mean looking and they went all pointy in the middle. And I said, Is that it? Are you guys in need of being rescued? Leo elbowed Adeline and said, They looked so angry, Didn't they? Adeline said, Yeah, What's wrong with them all? Mary was talking about how they get sheared and when they get sheared and how the sheep absolutely love it because their wool gets so thick and heavy that they feel very free when they get sheared. Tucker looked at the angry sheep and said, Is that true angry sheep? Is it true? Or is it like you've been, You've been, You've been, You've been taken advantage of by this nasty lady, Even though she is very nice? The sheep didn't say anything and it blared in Tucker's face really loud. And Tucker said, I take that as a yes. Are you telling me that Mary takes your, Your, Your, What is it called? Wool. It's not wool until they change it into wool. It's probably just its pelt or its coat, Something like that. Does Mary take your pelty pelt? Does she take it? And not ask, Is that the problem? Because I need to know about this because if this is the case, Then I'm going to report this to the services. Claire said, What services do you report sheep to? She was looking up at the sky trying to figure it out. It's not like you can let child protective services know because they're not children or that you could let like social services know because, Well, They're not people. Um, Sheep services? That's it, Claire. You're so smart. Yes, Sheep services. They went into this big barn area and there was lots of men that looked like farmers, All dressed in kind of like blue and green overalls. They were shearing the sheep and the sheep didn't look too happy about it. It looked quite aggressive, Actually. Tucker said, Behold, This is where the torture takes place. This is it exactly. Look at that poor sheep over there. The sheep was going, Bleh, Bleh, Doing its blarey-blare noises, But it didn't sound happy at all. Listen to it. It sounds practically like it's been murdered in front of our eyes. Tucker bounded over to the gentleman that was shearing one of the sheep that was making a lot of bleh, Screamy noises and said, Excuse me, Mister, And knocked him with his head. The guy said, Hey, Pal, Hold on there. What you doing? Tucker said, I don't like the sound of the sheep. It sounds like he's very unhappy. The guy carried on shearing the sheep. Tucker headbutted him again with his head. Stop it. In the name of the law. The guy said, Watch it, Dog. If you're not careful, I'll end up nipping the sheep with my shears and that won't be very nice. These sheep are very delicate, You know. We have to be careful when we shear the fur. Leo said, He doesn't sound like a nasty farmer. He sounds quite nice. Gabby said, Yeah, He does. Claire said, Oh, I don't know. Look at his face. His face was just like Mary's, All red and veiny as if they lived outside in the cold constantly. Tucker said, His face is bright red like that lady's outside. Mary had a face just like that. Gabby said, I think it's just because they work outside all the time. It doesn't mean that they're angry or mean or anything. Claire said, You might be right. They carried on watching all of the farmers shearing the sheep. The sheep were making some terrible noises. Oh, I can't do it. I can't do it, Said Tucker. I'm in pain listening to these poor sheep. I'd much rather do goat yoga. Leo said, Me too. This is awful. And then there was another farmer that was walking around collecting all the fur. And then the poor sheep that were bald were all stood in a corner shivering because it was cold and they didn't have the coats on. The guy that was collecting the fur was shoving it in a big, Big sack. What happens with that fur? And is there any possible way that that fur can get stuck back on those poor little sheepy sheep? Look at them, They're shivering. Those sheep are shivering. Say that fast. Say it fast. Adeline said, The sheep are shivering. Oh, Gosh, Darling. You guys are so good at this. Mary suggested that they all follow the guy with all the wool in the sack to see what happens next. Reluctantly, Everyone followed the guy and left the sheep being hacked by the hackers in the other room. The guy took all the fur out of the bag and started to process it through a machine. The machine washed it and took out all the twigs and the dirt and the stones and it separated it and then it made it into balls of wool. Oh, Wow, Said Tucker. That's absolutely genius. Look at it, Tyler said. That's great. I wonder, I wonder if, I wonder if they dye it here as well. So you get all the different colours of wool. My favourite colour's navy blue. Tucker said, Oh, Yes, I like navy blue too. Everybody seemed to be so enthralled with watching the machines and watching the process of how they make balls of wool that they'd forgot about those poor sheep outside that were being taken advantage of. Their pelts or their fur or whatever you want to call it, Their coat had been taken off them and they were stood there shivering in the cold. Mary was feeding them lies telling them that they actually enjoyed that process. Or was she? Tucker said, We need to find out for sure exactly what is happening in this terrible torture, Torture farm. Outside there was a couple of sheep grazing on a big bale of hay. Tucker bounded over to them. Hello there, Sheepies. We've come to rescue you. What is happening in this horrible hellhole? Leo said, Hi, Sheep. How's it going? One of the sheep said, Oh, It's great, Thanks. Tucker said, Finally, One that dares to speak. The sheep said to Leo, What's wrong with him? Oh, Well, We were just wondering if all the sheep are OK here on this sheep farm because we thought maybe you guys were getting mistreated. You know, They take away your fur and all of that stuff. Oh, No, We like it. We overheat if they don't take it away from us. You're joking, Said Leo. Tucker said, Oh, Oh, That's a bit disappointing. I was ready to be calling the law. Claire started laughing. Tucker, You have got a really, Really crazy imagination. Well, You know, That's what happens when you're a little bit crazy. Things like this get out of hand, Charlie said. Well, Thank goodness for that, Because I was feeling kind of guilty bringing you all to a sheep farm. That would have been horrible if we were actually just coming here to watch animals getting tortured. Yes, That would have been very, Very strange of you, Charlie. But now we can actually enjoy the process. Maybe we can rumble and tumble with some of these sheep and maybe if they want to, They could walk on his back and do a little bit of yoga. Some of the sheep agreed that they'd like to do that. Leo said, No, Thank you. Tucker let two of the tiny lambs walk all over his back and he giggled a lot the whole time it was happening. The girls and Tyler took photos. Crazy Tucker. The end.
