Lie down and be as comfortable as you can possibly be in your bed.
Make sure that everything is just right in your room.
The lights are just right.
You've got your comfortable pyjamas on.
You're snuggling your teddy.
And all is well in the world.
So that you can start to relax your body.
And get ready for bed.
Heidi,
Cherry and Vea were at their friend's house,
Ellie and Alex.
Ellie wanted to have every single friend of Heidi,
Cherry and Vea's over for a slumber party of sorts.
But she wanted everyone that they know from the cat club to come over and hang out at Ellie's house.
That was her desire.
The cats absolutely adored Ellie and their little brother Alex.
So they wanted to go over with all of their friends to do whatever Ellie and Alex wanted to do for the evening to make it a super slumber party.
The first thing that Alex wanted to do was play chase.
Chase the mouse.
They had a wind-up mouse and the mouse would go as fast as possible across the room and it turned around in circles.
It was a crazy little mouse that went absolutely everywhere and all of the cats including Alex and Ellie had to chase the mouse and whoever caught the mouse won.
Of course,
All of the cats were very excited about this.
And so was Alex.
He was determined he was going to win the race.
Jerry said.
You know,
Alex.
I know you think that you're really fast and all,
And I know that you think that you're in for a chance,
But you know.
.
.
Realistically,
You've got absolutely no chance at all,
Alex,
Because you're a boy.
You're a little boy and we're cats.
And,
You know,
We're made for prancing and jumping and leaping and doing all those amazing things that cats can do.
You know,
Like,
Alex,
Alex,
Alex,
Let's be serious.
Can you climb a tree?
No.
Can you,
Like,
Jump off the top of a house?
No.
Can you,
Like,
Do crazy things like leap from one car to another car?
Because we can.
Can't we,
Cats?
All the cats in unison went MEOW MEOW MEOW which of course they were all saying,
Yeah,
Of course we can.
So Alex,
I'm afraid you're going to lose but this will be good for you because you'll learn how to be a very good loser.
You'll learn that,
You know,
When you lose you don't have to take it so personal.
I know I have a little bit of a problem with this but I know from practice that sometimes in life you don't always win.
Sometimes you're not always so great at everything,
Even though I am mostly great at everything.
You're not always great.
So Alex,
I say we play this game of chase and if you lose,
Which you're gonna,
Then you just kind of like,
How would you say it really nicely?
You suck it up.
No,
That's not very nice.
You say,
Congratulations,
Cats.
You did so well.
And then when no one's looking,
You go and scream at the top of your lungs and go,
I lost!
I'm lost!
Darn it!
I lost!
But you don't do that in front of anybody else,
Okay?
You just kind of handle it with,
Like,
Dignity.
Right?
Right,
Heidi?
Sometimes.
Even though it feels really good to win,
It's okay to lose.
Jerry said,
OK,
OK with the lectures.
We don't have to get all technical and all that stuff right now.
But anyway,
Let's just play the game.
Let's just play the game.
The cats played chase.
They were chasing the little wind-up mouse all over the house.
The mouse was going absolutely everywhere.
The cats were chasing it absolutely everywhere.
At one point,
There was pillars flying,
There was chairs moving,
They were knocking things over.
Alex was just as bad,
And he was absolutely amazing at chasing the mouse.
He was in the lead most of the time,
Which Cherry was absolutely perturbed about.
She couldn't believe that he was as good as what he was,
But they didn't realize he was four,
And four-year-olds can get into absolutely everything.
So,
Surprise,
Alex is really good at chase.
When it came to the end of that game.
Neither Cherry or Alex won.
It was some other cat from the cat club,
Jerry.
Jerry was a speedo at chase and no one else had a chance.
So both Alex and Cherry had to basically be okay with not winning.
And they both handled it very well.
They didn't do so bad at all.
They played chase over and over and over again.
Cherry did win one of them when Jerry was too tired to play.
And then Alex actually won one of them.
And then everybody was eventually over the game of chase.
So they moved on to play something else.
The next game was going to be Ellie's choice,
And Ellie wanted to do karaoke.
Cherry said,
Oh,
I'm really good at this.
Faye said,
Me too,
I've been practicing.
Me would like to sing a song.
I'd like to sing a song with Ellie.
Ellie and Vea had a little conference about what song they were going to sing together.
And they went first at singing the song.
They sounded beautiful.
Faye did very well at karaoke.
Cherry did her awesome,
Fantastic self and absolutely killed it at one of the songs that she was singing.
What was it now?
It was Last Christmas by Wham and she was still on Christmas.
Even though Christmas was all over,
She was still singing her Christmas songs.
So she sang Last Christmas by Wham.
And it went something like this.
We don't need to sing anymore because it was Cherry's normal attempt at anything to do with singing,
Which,
You know,
Is not that great.
But Cherry is amazing at singing.
And then Heidi didn't want to sing.
A few of the other cats sung songs.
They were dancing while the other cats were singing.
They had so much fun.
And then finally,
Cherry said,
Can I have a turn at being in charge of what we're going to do next?
Because I've been thinking what would be really,
Really awesome.
And I've always wanted to do it.
And I've never actually done it.
And I think it'd be really,
Really cool if we had a pillow fight.
Do you think we could have a pillow fight?
I'd really like that.
We have to make some rules up,
Though,
Don't we,
Heidi?
Because when you're doing any kind of fighting,
You have to be sensible about it,
Don't you?
Because you can't be just fighting and then somebody gets really angry and like gets really aggressive with the pillar and then spoils it for everyone.
We don't want that,
Do we?
No,
So we have to kind of set some like guidelines or some boundaries or something so that some of these crazy cats from the cat club don't go over the top and like bash us into the ground with a pillar.
Because I'm not thinking I'd like that very much.
So yeah,
Guidelines Heidi.

Heidi said,
Well,
Of course,
We don't get serious.
No one gets upset or angry.
And if they do,
Everyone has to stop the game so that the person that's feeling a little bit annoyed or angry or upset can take a few breaths and calm down and talk about what's going on.
We never,
Ever get aggressive and violent and physical.
That's the most important rule.
Even though pillow fighting is something that's physical.
It's done in jest.
We don't pillow fight to hurt each other.
We just pillow fight for fun.
Very true,

Said Cherry.
I know,
I know I can be strong.
I know I can be a little bit aggressive sometimes and a little bit crazy and a little bit like determined to win but I know I'm very strong and it's our,
It's our,
Like Spiderman says,
What does Spiderman says?
What does he say now?
Oh,
What is it?
With great power comes great responsibilities.
That's it.
That's what I feel like,
You know,
Because I'm so strong and I'm so powerful and I'm so like,
You know,
Just determination.
Determination oozes off me fur.
I'm so determined sometimes to be like the best that I can be.
So I think they're really good rules.
But I'm going to definitely stick to them.
Everybody.
Listen to me.
You have to stick to the rules of what Heidi just created for those safe guidelines and safe boundaries of a pillow fight because you know it's so important for us to all stay friends.
" Ellie said.
That's very important to me.
I like to be friends with friends and I don't like to be falling out with my friends.
And Alex just nodded.
Yes.
Yeah,
He kept saying.
So,
Everyone was in agreement.
They just had to play the game to the rules and then everything would be fun.
And that's exactly what they all did.
The pillow fight was awesome.
Everybody got a pillow.
And everybody just kinda stood to the sidelines in the living room.
And then when Heidi counted one,
Two,
Three and blew her whistle,
Everybody charged into the middle of the living room and just went crazy with the pillows.
And because it was just pillows,
No one got hurt.
And even more importantly,
Because Heidi had set some guidelines and some rules,
No one got angry.
No one got too aggressive.
No one got too serious about the game.
Everyone just laughed a lot and played and rolled around,
Hit each other with the pillows and bonked each other on the head or the tummies or the legs with the pillows.
And it was okay.
It didn't get crazy.
Not that crazy that anyone had to pause and take a breath and calm themselves down and get emotionally in a good place again before they were allowed to carry on playing the game.
So everything worked out well.
Karaoke was awesome.
Pillow fights were awesome.
And Chase was amazing.
They were all,
Absolutely.
Terribly pooped.
Somehow,
I don't know how,
Because there must have been at least 25 cats in that house.
Every cat.
Alex.
And his big sister,
Ellie.
Found a place.
To fall to sleep.
They all got comfortable.
Some of them were on the sofa.
Some of them were on the rug.
Some of them were just on the floor.
Some of them were even hanging out of like the living room drawers and the cabinets and things and they were absolutely everywhere but they all looked very very comfortable.
Y'all just settle down.
Yawn.
Pawed at their faces,
Cleaned their whiskers,
Licked at their paws a little bit.
Alex and his big sister Ellie got comfortable on the sofa and pulled up a nice big soft furry blanket.
It was time to rest.
Time to completely let go of the day.
Time.
To soften all of their muscles.
Nice big deep breaths in.
Out.
And in.
Out.
Slowly get more.
And more.
Relaxed.
Until.

We're all fast asleep.
And the slumber party.
