This is a taking in the good practice.
This is useful for offsetting the negativity bias that our brains are designed to do in order to help us survive.
So it's a really way of rewiring it in a more positive way.
So we're gonna be reliving a joyful memory.
And just kind of going into the sensations of that in order to really embed those positive experiences.
So start off by getting comfortable.
Perhaps sitting down or lying down,
But being alert and awake to the sensations.
Beginning with a few deep breaths into the abdomen.
And just start to recall a memory,
Something joyful.
It could be something big,
Like a holiday or event,
Or just something really simple,
Like smelling a flower or going for a walk,
But just something that's really personal to you.
So,
Start by.
.
.
Really bringing to life this memory really vividly.
New mind's eye.
Perhaps remembering who was there.
And the expressions on their faces.
Or your own face.
Any sounds that you could hear at the time.
What could you see?
Any colours that were around.
What emotions?
Really?
Tuning into how this made you feel.
Could be pleasure or a connection,
Perhaps love.
Excitement.
I invite you now to bring a hand to a place in your body that feels right,
Perhaps your chest.
Or your abdomen.
We'll just stay where you are,
Just whatever feels right to you at this moment.
And again,
Just really feeling into the emotions.
And the sides.
And the sounds.
Of this memory.
And just noticing.
How that feels in your body right now.
And if that's changed.
Since before the practice.
Just allowing it all to just soak up.
This lovely memory.
And absorb it.
If it makes you want to smile.
How that makes your body feel as well.
Just sticking with this.
For a few more breaths.
And we really soak that in.
Just remembering.
You can do this whenever you want to feel a bit more positive.
Or.
.
.
We want to just enjoy something that's happening to us at that time.
As we come to the end of the practice.
Just beginning to move your body.
Perhaps give yourself a stretch or move around a bit.
And just knowing that you can do this.
Wherever you are.
Any time of the day.
Just to bring a bit more positivity.
Into your life.
Thank you.
