Great Love,
Light of this temporal existence and of the Divine,
As I consider this life with its beauty,
Hope and promise,
I am reminded that it is a gift,
Each blessed sunrise,
Each breath,
And I wish not to ever forget or take for granted the bounty of what we have,
The largess of the sustenance that allows us to continue.
But in humanity,
I am waylaid in times of change or uncertainty,
By doubts,
Worries and fears,
Bringing to the forefront of my mind desires for myself,
But more for those I love.
My belief is that these hopes we have should not be hidden or silenced.
They are valuable as present in my thoughts,
But seemingly more so spoken aloud and given form.
So here is my prayer.
That my family will be safe from evil,
From selfish persons who look to make victims,
That they will be safe from physical danger,
Both natural and manmade,
That they will be safe from psychological pains,
Internal turmoil that arises a result of situations or hurtful words or actions,
And that when they do encounter difficulty,
They will have strength,
They will have confidence,
They will find solutions and have peace of mind.
Approaching decisions with maturity and understanding and find support,
People who will love them lift and build them up.
Friends,
True friends to spend life together,
Others with whom they can laugh,
Cry,
And love,
And give them discernment to choose these people wisely,
To guard their confidence but trust when trust is earned.
Allow my family to grow,
To love and understand,
To build community and be a beacon of stability and light,
To be a leader when necessary,
In humbleness and consideration,
And to follow when it is right.
But above all,
I ask that they have joy,
Happiness,
And freedom,
Moving beyond the darkness or sadness into growth,
Purpose,
And fulfillment,
Into completion and grace.
Make them whole in their mind and body,
Balanced and present,
Full of being,
Bursting of presence,
Vibrating with the power of the Spirit,
And living into the power of love.
