Thanks for joining me,
Clara,
For this guided visualization.
This visualization was inspired by Yellowstone National Park.
Before we begin,
Please take a few moments to relax.
Find a comfortable position and close your eyes.
Bring awareness to your breathing.
There are so many distractions in your daily life,
But spending a few moments to consciously pause and breathe each day brings a peaceful benefit to you.
A benefit you can pass along to others around you when they sense your sense of calm and inner strength.
You're walking in an alpine meadow filled with wildflowers.
Another piece of the natural surroundings is flowing into you.
And the warm sunshine streams into the abundant life circling you.
The wilderness presses close to the clearing.
Stands of aspen trees envelop the meadow with quaking leaves beginning to change from green to gold.
As they ripple and whisper in the slight breeze,
A few of the leaves fall and scatter.
And when they do,
You can feel your cares dropping away from you.
The aspen trunks are straight,
Ghostly white,
Etched with black scars.
You can see other people have been here before and carved their initials on some of them.
Mixed in with the aspen are lodgepole pines and Douglas fir trees.
Two large ravens are disturbed by your presence and fly away.
In the distance,
Mountain peaks cobalt blue,
Snow-capped,
Inspired like gothic turrets touching the clouds.
Hot springs heave and boil beneath those cold mountains as they have for thousands and thousands of years.
And nearby,
A wild stream cascades out of a fissure in the ground.
The spring randomly heaves and bubbles as if the water is breathing in and out.
Floating above the water is a ghostly steam that shifts and dances in the sunlight.
The boiling spring empties into a small lagoon the colour of the purest azure,
Framed by a mineralised crust.
Suddenly a small group of bison appear from behind the trees.
There are about ten of them.
They are massive and fantastic,
With abundant glossy brown fur.
You hide behind a boulder as they walk in your direction.
The ground is soft and hollowed out so when the bison lumber past,
The earth trembles.
You watch as they amble along before blending back into the landscape.
After a while,
You can hardly see the difference between the boulders and the bison in the distance.
And then they fade away altogether.
You become aware of this present moment.
The warm sun on your face,
The earth,
The trees,
The spring and the lagoon.
The meadow are all beautiful.
The inner child is awakened.
Again to the immediacy of things.
And peaceful.
Nature has a way of doing this.
You close your eyes and surrender to the feeling of relaxation.
And allow yourself to drift off into a deeper state of rest or sleep.
Good night and sweet dreams.
Thank you for listening.
