A very big aloha.
My name is Reverend Cindy Paulus and I wanted to talk about how energy and intention can get carried through space and time.
And it's an interesting thing that is,
I think it probably goes into higher physics,
But it goes into also a spiritual energy field.
When we have a pure intention and a good intention and we really put heart and soul into that intention,
Something magical happens.
And I don't know if you can really put a name to it,
But it's something about the creation process that carries that good intention and that perfect energy field of creation that happens when we really will take the time to believe enough to do something with right intention.
Now,
Here's the issue that I am concerned about because as AI becomes more and more powerful and dominant in our lives,
There's shortcuts that are being found.
And you might see more and more pictures,
Especially that are created by AI.
You might see actually quite a few answers and talks and things that are created by AI.
There's so much that is now being created by AI,
But I can't help but wonder if it has the same energy field behind it as something that's coming from the creation of a source that is not AI.
And I think those of you that are aware and in tune might know what I'm thinking about.
There is this amazing,
Powerful energy in human creation,
And it's the creative process.
It's the thought that comes into being in such an amazing way.
And a lot of times it takes time.
Now,
Here's the thing is AI can make it quicker and be able to be used for shortcuts,
And everything is getting faster and quicker,
So you want to use the shortcuts,
Right?
Of course you do,
You know.
It's like,
Oh,
I can do it in like a tenth of the time by just using AI.
But there is something about that process of creation and doing it not in the short time,
But the full time of being that happens.
Now,
If you've created a book or if you created anything,
Piece of music,
You know,
A piece of art,
Yeah,
There's always even shortcuts now to do AI with that.
But it doesn't have the same energy that happens when you don't use AI.
You just use that process of creation in its full power and full intent.
I think this is a very important thing,
And it's hard to pinpoint.
It's because I think it's going to become even more predominant as time goes by.
I'm going to use an example from my own personal life experiences.
I got involved in doing radio when I was very young,
As a teenager.
I love music.
I love music.
I love,
Always love music.
I've been a DJ and on the air for many,
Many,
Many,
Many years,
You know,
35 years plus.
And so I've always loved having that process going.
And I remember when radio was created to just be a creative,
Beautiful time where you could put music on that was inspirational,
That was beautiful,
Was hand-picked by people at that time.
Being a DJ myself in a creative radio station,
I could pick the music I was playing.
Well,
Then that started to get involved with what was happening with the people in the music business,
As more and more people in the music business and the record companies wanted to control what was being put on.
They would not want you to put out any choice of music you wanted to pick.
They put out singles.
They put out only a limited amount of an album.
It's gotten worse and worse and worse and worse as time has gone on,
To the point now where you see radio stations not picking any original music.
It's all been programmed to just a few things that are limited,
You know,
For thousands of songs,
Thousands and thousands of songs.
When I was doing it down to a radio station,
We have a few hundred songs they can play.
I have a radio station I do that I've created,
KUOS-FM,
That's non-profit.
I don't make any money from it,
And it plays a wide variety of music.
It's low-powered.
It's in Sedona,
But it streams as well.
But the thing is that I'm doing it because that's the way I love music,
And I don't make any money off it.
It's not commercial.
It's non-commercial,
But it's something I love that isn't a shortcut.
And the shortcuts have changed over time,
And in a pretty quick period of time,
But over 30 years,
It's completely changed what began as a certain thing that was a creative experience.
The shortcuts are dangerous sometimes,
And I'm seeing that so much now that I think there's a lesson to be learned.
I really do,
And I think it's very unfortunate that AI is so tempting that we do want to use it to save time.
And unfortunately,
That isn't always the best way to do things.
Saving time is an interesting idea,
Isn't it?
What are you saving when you're saving time?
You're maybe actually cutting out what's important to use time,
To let time be something we use in the creative process that's important in the creative process.
I think it's important that we really consider this in whatever we're doing,
Because it's changing the whole way that our creative process is being used.
And if we start losing that gift of creation and the time it takes to create,
And we use shortcuts,
And we use,
Unfortunately,
That energy and that belief and that creative process and the time it takes to create something beautiful,
Then we're going to be losing something very valuable.
And it's going to be harder to get back,
Because who's going to be teaching it to the people who are younger?
How are kids going to be creating?
They're going to be creating,
And they're finding more and more AI being used in tests,
In lectures,
And AI is getting used so often.
Now,
I don't think AI is an enemy,
But it's the temptation of being more available and to make things faster,
Quicker,
And what we can perceive may be possibly better than what we could do it,
But it's not the same as the original person creating something from scratch.
I happen to like mistakes sometimes.
I think mistakes are great,
You know.
AI will make some mistakes at this point,
But they're getting better and better at not making any mistakes,
And the shortcuts that they're making possible to use is going to change the whole creative process so much that it could be very dangerous.
And I don't usually talk about this,
But I'm seeing this happen so much and so rapidly,
And they're saying that possibly within five years,
The AI is going to be so far more powerful and better than what we can do ourselves,
That the temptation to use it is going to grow more and more and more and more,
And I don't know what then is going to be left with what we're going to do.
We're seeing jobs being lost to AI.
All the time already,
Jobs are being lost to AI,
But I happen to believe that there are going to be people who appreciate the real thing,
The human potential.
The real thing is still going to be more and more valuable,
So all I can say is please be aware of what is real and the time it takes to create something real and something wonderful and something human with all of its imperfections that really can be perfections in its own course of time,
In its own evaluation.
Art is an example.
Music is an example because there are sometimes mistakes you make in music,
But that creative process is part of that and it can be beautiful.
So please,
My friends,
Be aware of the temptation of AI and also please be aware how important it is for you as a human being to support the human process and that creative process.
And if you do art,
Do art.
If you do music,
You do music.
If you do anything,
Writing,
Books without AI,
Please continue to do that because those are so valuable and such a gift and I bow in the deepest of gratitude to you,
My friends,
And I really do appreciate you being there.
With much love and appreciation.
Thank you.
