Make your way into a meditation position for the day.

You might like to find a comfortable seated position with your hands relaxed on your knees.

Or you might like to lie down and place a pillow underneath your head.

Whatever feels comfortable for you in this moment in this meditation practice.

When you're ready gently close down your eyes as we begin our space meditation.

Using outer space,

Our solar system,

To provide inner space and clarity.

Meditation can provide space in our lives.

Space to think clearly,

Space to breathe and space just to be.

For this meditation let's take a journey to perhaps the largest space that we know,

Our outer space,

The solar system.

Let's begin by imagining the space around you in this room.

Without opening your eyes,

Become aware of the space surrounding your body.

Above you,

Beside you,

In front of you,

Behind you.

And breathe into this space.

You might like to choose a colour for your breath.

Breathe the colour into the space inside your body and out,

Releasing the colour out into the space around you.

Repeat this breath,

This full deep breath a few times.

One,

Two,

And three.

Keeping your eyes closed to help you access your imagination.

We're going to begin to imagine ourselves floating.

Picture yourself starting to slowly float out of the room and high above you,

Looking down like a bird in the sky.

Can you picture the building that you're in from a bird's eye view as you travel far away in the distance?

In your imagination,

Continue floating way up high until you finally reach space.

What can you see around you?

Is it light or dark?

What is the temperature in space where you are?

Are you still or are you spinning?

Are you making your way around slowly in space or are you zooming fast?

How does it feel to be alone in this large open space?

What else do you notice?

What objects are around you?

Spending some time here on this journey,

This imagination ride.

Exploring everything this wide open space has to offer you.

When you are ready,

You may like to use my voice as a guide to gently pull you back down here to earth,

Taking as much time as needed.

Visualise yourself beginning to descend and gently coming back into the room that you're in.

As you feel the weight of your body on the bed or the floor beneath you or the chair,

Tune back into your breath.

You might like to envisage a colour once more as you breathe in and out of your body.

Has the colour changed since the beginning of the meditation or has it remained the same?

With a few breaths of this colour breath,

Deep into the body,

Releasing it out into the space around you.

And then when you're ready,

Gently opening your eyes and have a great day.
