Welcome to this open-eyed mindful meditation.
We don't need anything special for the practice today,
Just you and your breath and something that you can rest your eyes on.
Something natural,
Something lively.
So maybe it's a plant in your home or a tree outside the window,
The sky or even a single leaf.
Whatever catches your attention,
Let that be your anchor.
Wherever you are,
Just take a moment to arrive.
Find a comfortable seat and let your feet ground beneath you left and right.
Your spine can lift gently upward and your shoulders soften gently down.
Take a slow breath in through your nose and a long easy exhale through your mouth.
Again inhaling,
Noticing the air entering your body and exhale releasing any effort.
Now bring your gaze to this living thing before you.
No need to name it or label it.
We're not here to analyze or judge.
We're here to see,
To notice.
So let your eyes rest softly without strain and see the shades of color,
The way the light touches the surface.
Maybe there's movement of a leaf trembling or of reflection shifting.
The interplay of shadow and light.
For the next minute,
Simply look,
Observe.
Be fully here,
Present with a small piece of the natural world.
Let yourself see what's in front of you just as it is.
Now slowly bringing your gaze to close,
Let your eyes rest behind your eyelids softly,
Gently and notice what you can still sense.
The same calm perhaps,
The same aliveness now within you.
The beauty you observed outside,
It doesn't disappear.
It simply reflects what's already here inside.
That same presence,
That same life,
That same awareness.
Take a slow full breath in and as you exhale,
Feel both worlds,
Inner and outer,
Meeting in this moment.
And when you're ready,
Gently opening your eyes again to see the world as it is,
Fresh,
Alive and enough.
And remember,
The beauty you notice out there is the beauty that you carry in here.
Thank you for practicing with me.
Have a lovely day.
