Hello and welcome,
And today's word is a very important one,
The word action.
Now those of you who've heard me talking about how to live your best life,
I talk often about three parts to the process.
The first part is understanding how you got where you are today,
How you've been formed by your upbringing,
By things going on around you,
By beliefs,
By mindsets,
By thoughts.
And number two is to reshuffle some of those and decide which beliefs are helping you and hold on to those,
And the ones that are hindering you,
Letting go of those and rewriting your beliefs so that you really go forward on this journey of your life with chosen beliefs and chosen mindsets and chosen behaviours that are empowering for you.
But number three,
And without it nothing will come to fruition,
Number three is action.
How to take action,
How to keep an eye on the ball and keep taking action in the direction that you want to go in.
So I ask you,
How many times have you had a great idea but never followed through?
How often have you waited for the right time to start something new only to watch months or years pass by and then you start from scratch all over again?
And many people on the journey of living their best life have been through exactly that process.
They start,
They put all the energy in,
They get all excited about their vision boards and everything else that's attached to it,
They decide on rewriting beliefs and yet then they get so excited that they think everything's fine,
They don't need to do anything more and they forget the action piece.
And before they know it,
They're right back at the beginning again,
Reviewing everything and then again hopefully at that point they then realize the importance of action.
Many people get stuck in that loop and many people get stuck in a loop of overthinking,
Worrying about fear of failure or waiting for perfect conditions that are simply never going to come.
If you have a dream of doing a business or creating a digital product or sharing information,
Please do it before you're 100% ready because the fact that you might be holding back because you're not ready tells me that you might be a perfectionist and there will be no ideal time.
So think today please about the question,
What is one thing that you could take action on today that will get you further towards the dream that you have in your mind?
What's one action you could take towards your ideal life?
And when we look at many overnight successes,
What we call overnight successes or child prodigy musicians,
It's often very interesting to look at their life that although they may have become famous overnight,
Those individuals have often been practicing and taking action for years beforehand,
Daily,
Sometimes for hours a day.
They're no overnight success really at all.
Not born with that gift,
It's practice and action that made them a success.
Now studies do show that taking small consistent action builds self-discipline and reduces procrastination over time and is often more successful long term than taking massive huge steps.
And a Harvard Business Review study found that successful entrepreneurs act first and adjust as they go rather than waiting for a perfect plan.
And when you're taking small steps,
Adjustment is far easier than if you've taken huge steps.
Having to then pull back when you realize things are going a bit awry is much harder.
So five things I'd like to,
I invite you to do today to bring more of an active spirit into your life.
And the first one is to use the five second rule by Mel Robbins.
There's a great book that she wrote on this and it's really,
Really brilliant.
We have really no more than five seconds before the brain will start to bring in doubt and negative thought.
That's how long you should be giving yourself.
Try that out today.
Five seconds and take action.
Number two,
Break goals into mini tasks,
Into mini steps and get used to the idea that small steps bring huge results over time.
And number three,
Embrace imperfection.
Please embrace imperfection.
Don't wait for the perfect moment.
Start now,
Adjust later.
Progress is better than perfection.
And in fact,
Tony Robbins says the opposite of success is not failure,
But focusing on perfection or words to that effect.
So I'm going to leave you today with a quotation by Zig Ziglar.
You don't have to be great to start,
But you have to start to be great.
