Welcome.
This is a five minute morning yoga class to start your day calmly so you feel centered and grounded.
If you're ready to start,
I welcome you to begin in a seated posture of your choosing,
Taking all the time you need to arrive.
And as you get comfortable,
I offer a gentle reminder for you to move at your own pace,
Knowing you can take breaks or end early.
And once you're comfortable,
You can rest your hands anywhere.
Or maybe you bring them to your belly.
Softening in your shoulders.
In your jaw.
Maybe elongating in your spine,
Dipping your chin slightly.
You might choose to connect with the earth.
Or maybe you take a deep breath in with me,
Breathing into your belly,
Into your hands.
Creating space.
And exhale,
Release.
You might choose to stay here.
Or on your next in-breath,
You might sweep your arms up and overhead,
Keeping your shoulders soft.
And exhale slowly bringing hands through prayer center.
Two more in your own time and pace as you inhale,
Reach up.
And exhale lower.
Inhale,
Reach.
Exhale,
Lower.
Resting your hands anywhere,
I invite you to explore a few neck rolls so you might dip your chin.
Rock your right ear to your right shoulder.
Left ear to left shoulder.
Moving between these two or you could rotate back if that feels comfortable for your neck.
Finding gentle movement.
Over trying to find a deep stretch.
You might continue this or you might return to center so we can explore a few shoulder rolls.
Perhaps with an inhale,
You bring your shoulders up to your ears,
Squeeze.
And exhale,
Release everything down.
Inhale it.
Exhale lower.
A few more in your time and pace.
Maybe you move both shoulders or one at a time.
Switching directions.
Anything you like here.
You might choose to continue this.
Or you might bring your hands back to a comfortable place,
Maybe resting gently in your lap.
As we lead with our heart space,
Finding gentle circles.
Maybe moving with your breath as you inhale,
Come forward.
And exhale round back.
Option to include your shoulders in this.
Make this a very fluid movement.
Or even finding stillness if that feels better in this moment.
If you were circling one way,
You might switch direction.
And if you're ready to continue,
You might choose to join me as we find a gentle position resting on our backs.
Taking all the time you need to arrive.
And when you do,
You might bring soles of your feet together,
Resting your knees open or on tiptoe.
Your heels can be as close or as far away from you as you like.
And you have the option to take any other restful pose that's speaking to you in this moment.
Allowing these next few moments for complete rest.
To simply be with nothing to do.
Just being in this space.
You're welcome to stay here as long as you like.
You might choose to bring your hands underneath your knee,
Scatting them back to center.
In joining me in a comfortable seat of your choosing.
Taking your time.
Once you arrive,
Resting your hands anywhere you like.
Or maybe placing one hand on your heart.
The other on your belly.
Option to take a deep inhale,
Maybe breathing into your belly.
The deepest breath of the morning.
And on an exhale,
Letting everything go.
I thank you for joining this quick class.
Hopefully you're feeling a little bit more calm and ready to start your day.
I hope you have a wonderful rest of your morning.
And from my vulnerable heart to yours.
Take care.
