It's time to prepare for sleep.
Take a few moments to get comfortable.
Set yourself up by lying down on your back,
On your side,
Or maybe on your belly.
Whatever feels the best.
Bring a few pillows around you for support.
The head and neck are supported.
Cover yourself with a cozy blanket.
Now feel yourself sink into the bed beneath you,
All of your weight heavy.
Let it go.
And with each of the next few exhales,
Invite your body to surrender a little more.
Let go with this exhale.
And with this exhale.
And a little more with this exhale.
Feel the gentle cradling of your body on the mattress,
The pillows and blankets,
Wrapped in a cozy nest,
Safe and secure.
And in this cocoon,
Allow yourself to fall into a state of deep,
Deep relaxation.
The breath naturally slows and you relax even more.
As the breath slows,
The mind quiets.
There's nothing but drifting,
Drifting into the peaceful stillness of sleep.
Your body is loose,
Head heavy on the pillow.
Separate the back teeth,
The mouth slightly open.
Feel the tongue from the roof of the mouth and allow it to simply float.
The eyes are softly closed behind the lids,
Heavy,
Relaxed.
As you sink deeper,
Allow my voice to fade into the background.
Feel the shoulders relax,
The chest and belly are soft,
Hips release.
The legs give their entire weight to the support underneath them.
The feet let go,
Toes loosen.
The arms are resting comfortably.
The palms become soft.
The fingers slightly curled and yielding.
Every part of your body gives in to effortless ease.
You are drifting,
Peaceful,
Quiet,
Safe,
Loved,
Sleep.
