Welcome to The Flower Moon.
Breathe,
Bloom and rest under the flower moon.
A relaxation story and guided imagery for children.
Hello,
I'm Emma and I'm going to be reading you this story.
And it's time to get comfy.
So find a cosy spot to lie down or sit.
Let your arms and legs rest gently.
You can close your eyes if you like.
Or just let your eyes rest.
Tonight,
The sky will be glowing softly.
High above,
A big round moon shines like a glowing lantern.
This is the flower moon.
The gentle guardian of springtime blooms.
She floats in the sky like a shimmering pearl.
Watching over the earth as flowers wake up and stretch towards the light.
The flower moon sees you and she smiles.
Come with me,
She whispers gently.
Let's visit my moonlit garden.
But before we step into the garden,
The flower moon wants to teach you a special kind of breath.
A flower breath.
So,
Let's breathe in slowly like you're smelling a beautiful flower.
Then breathe out gently like you're blowing soft petals into the wind.
Let's try that together again.
Breathe in,
Smelling the sweet flower.
Breathe out,
Soft and slow like a breeze.
Wonderful.
Now I think you're ready.
With one soft moonbeam,
The flower moon gently lifts you into the sky.
You float,
Light as a dandelion seed,
Until you land in a glowing night-time garden.
This is no ordinary garden.
The petals shimmer with stardust.
The flowers sway gently,
Like they're breathing too.
The moon leans in close.
Every flower in this garden blooms when it's ready,
She says.
And so do you.
Just like a flower,
You grow in your own time.
Feel this in your heart and know that it's true.
As you stroll round the garden,
You notice.
You notice a patch of daisies,
Soft and white,
Perfect for resting.
They look as soft as a feather pillow.
Then,
A bed of tulips.
In all the colours of the rainbow,
They're humming a sweet tune.
They seem to be swaying along.
Then,
A gentle river of glowing forget-me-nots,
Their petals lighting the way.
Some petals float off into the air and look like dancing fireflies.
And finally,
The sweet smell of beautiful lavender drifts in the moonlight air.
You decide to lie down.
You put your head on the daisy pillow.
Its softness is so inviting.
The flower moon tucks you in with a blanket of petals.
She shines upon you as you listen to the tulips gently hum.
Let's take one more flower breath before we rest.
Breathe in.
Smell the flowers.
Breathe out,
Slowly,
Like a flower blooming.
Now,
The flower moon whispers your special moon message.
Just like a flower,
You grow in your own time.
Your body feels soft and warm.
Your heart feels calm and loved.
The flower moon will shine nearby all night long,
Keeping watch while you dream in her peaceful garden.
Rest well,
Little flower.
Keep growing,
Just as you are.
