Wherever you are right now,
Know that you are safe enough.
What you're feeling is real,
But it will pass.
So breathe.
Connect with your breath.
A deep breath instantly signals to the brain that you are safe enough.
Breathe and we'll breathe together on my count.
Inhale,
Four,
Three,
Two,
One.
Exhale,
Six,
Five,
Four,
Three,
Two,
One.
Inhale,
Four,
Three,
Two,
One.
Exhale,
Six,
Five,
Four,
Three,
Two,
One.
Breathe in,
Three,
Two,
One.
Breathe out,
Five,
Four,
Three,
Two,
One.
Inhale,
Four,
Three,
Two,
One.
Exhale,
Six,
Five,
Four,
Three,
Two,
One.
Feel the air enter your body.
Let it fill your lungs.
Breathe into your ribs.
Breathe into the belly,
Letting it all soften.
Your heart may be racing and your chest may feel tight.
These sensations are so uncomfortable,
But they are not dangerous.
This feeling will pass.
Breathe in,
Four,
Three,
Two,
One.
Breathe out,
Six,
Five,
Four,
Three,
Two,
One.
Inhale,
Four,
Three,
Two,
One.
Exhale,
Six,
Five,
Four,
Three,
Two,
One.
One more,
Breathe in.
Breathe out,
Let it go.
Notice the steady control of your breath.
Continuing to breathe in through the nose.
And out through the nose.
All panic sensations may not be gone.
But maybe they slowly dissipate,
Slowly release.
And notice the control of your breath.
Notice the sound of my voice.
This feeling will pass.
Every breath begins to soften and soothe every part of you that feels tense.
Breathe.
This feeling will pass.
Relaxing your face.
Your neck.
Your shoulders.
Let that relaxation flow down into your arms,
Your hands.
Let it spread across your back,
Your chest,
Into your belly.
Relaxing your glutes,
Your thighs,
Your calves.
Relaxing your ankles,
Your feet,
And your toes.
Feel your connection to any support around you,
Beneath or behind you.
Breathe.
And with every breath,
Feel the space grow between you and your thoughts.
Each breath you take creates more distance,
More space.
And as you create this distance,
You realize the thoughts no longer have power.
Our thoughts can go as quickly as they come,
And they are only part of you,
Part of your experience,
Not the whole.
So know there is nothing to fix.
There is nothing wrong with you and you are not broken.
You are living and you are experiencing.
So let yourself have these experiences without attaching meaning.
Continuing to breathe in through the nose,
Out through the nose.
And like a wave that once felt overwhelming,
You watch it begin to recede.
Each breath in,
You draw in a sense of calm.
A sense of peace.
And with each breath out,
You release any tension,
You release the fear,
You release the panic.
Allow yourself to rest here and now.
You have all the tools you need to move through anxiety and panic and intrusive thoughts.
You're never alone in this journey and you have the capacity to choose calm in every moment.
So I will count from 1 to 10,
And with each number,
Imagine yourself coming back with more presence,
More calm.
And then when I reach 10,
You will open your eyes,
Feeling peaceful and grounded.
One,
Becoming more aware of your body,
Noticing how calm you feel.
Three,
Bringing back with you this sense of safety,
Knowing that it's always within reach.
Reconnecting with your breath,
Noticing the ease it brings you.
Six.
Seven.
Eight,
Feel the energy and clarity returning to your mind.
Nine,
10,
Eyes open,
Fully awake,
Feeling more centered,
More grounded.
You have just moved through something really hard and you are strong enough to find a resource to support you and that matters.
Come back to this anytime you need it.
