With your eyes open or closed,
Welcome the environment and sounds around you,
The touch of air on your skin,
The sensations where your body touches the surface that is supporting it.
Take a few moments to experience the feeling and mood of your body.
As you are doing this,
Locate a feeling or emotion that is present,
Sensing where and how you experience this feeling or emotion in your body.
Now imagine this feeling or emotion walking in through a door or stepping into a meadow.
Go with the first image that appears in your imagination.
What does your feeling or emotion look like?
What is its shape,
Form,
Colour,
Size?
Is it formless or does it take the shape of a mineral,
Rock,
Plant,
Animal or person?
If it's a human being,
How old is it and how is it dressed?
Take a few moments and simply welcome with your imagination the shape and form your feeling or emotion takes.
Now imagine this feeling or emotion standing or sitting in a chair at a comfortable distance in front of you.
You're going to ask your feeling or emotion three questions.
First,
You'll ask it your question.
Then you will imagine yourself as the feeling or emotion speaking the answer back to you.
The three questions that you will ask in a moment are,
What do you want?
What do you need?
What action are you asking me to take?
Now face your feeling or emotion and ask it,
What do you want?
Now imagine you are your feeling or emotion speaking the answer.
Listen to what it has to say.
Next,
Ask it,
What do you need?
Now imagine you are your feeling or emotion speaking the answer.
Listen to what it has to say.
Next,
Ask it,
What action are you asking me to take?
Now imagine you are your feeling or emotion speaking the answer.
Listen to what it has to say.
Take a few moments to reflect on what you're experiencing now in your body and mind.
When you are ready,
Take time to write down in your journal your reflections and the answers you discovered from doing this practice.
Any actions you have discovered that you need to take become intentions.
When you set an intention,
Be sure to follow through with it in your daily life.
Following through with your actions and intentions builds self-trust and self-esteem.
Important ingredients in your journey of healing.
Now you may like to take the time to thank yourself for taking the time for eye rest.
