I just discovered Riley Lee is on Insight Timer. I have been listening to his music since 1999 when I heard his CD, Satori, playing in a bookshop. I was mesmerized.
I bought it immediately.
Along with other albums I got later, Lee’s work has become my most listened-to music. I discovered that for me, it has a quality of inducing clarity, calm, focus, and freedom to move through anxiety. It’s almost more than music.
If I am in an environment that is noisy and I need to concentrate, I put on Lee’s music in noise canceling headphones and I feel freed from the external annoyances. It basically freed me up to be at considerably more peace and more focused in just about any situation where outside noise might otherwise be an issue.
I have used it for sleep, meditation, and yoga as well.
It would not be an understatement to say that no other music has had such a direct impact on my life. It is the most important music I have ever come across.
I have listened to many types of music intended for calm and meditation, but for me, nothing is so consistently effective as the sounds of Lee’s Shakuhachi.
This track for sleeping is no exception. Same vibe, same feeling, same effect.
I can only speak for my own experience but I would highly recommend this to anyone as I really think it must be among the most effective meditative music in the world.
