I wrote this song one cold dark winter when I longed for the warmth of the sun. Unknown to me at the time, it was my last winter with my dear husband. By the next year, he was gone, over the mountain, and I was left to make sense of a life without him in it. This is dedicated to all who mourn the loss of loved ones. Please remember, the loss - though it rips and tears now - is impermanent. One day we will also leave it all behind and we'll run together again with our loved ones.

So beautiful and heartbreakingly sad that you lost your husband. Really strange how the universe knows before we do. I hope you are doing well now and are at peace. ☮️ 💜💜🕊️

The final farewell is universal. The timing is the mysterious unknown. Beautiful song, EmRiver, thank you! 💕🌹
