Hello.

Welcome.

I invite you to enjoy the present moment with me.

So first,

Let's begin by relaxing.

Finding a nice seat,

Maybe a meditation cushion.

Sitting our bodies in an alert but yet comfortable position.

Beginning to set ourselves time to be in the present.

Today,

I would like to introduce you to a fresh start meditation.

It can be used beginning of your day or even at the end.

Maybe somewhere in the middle,

Wherever you see fit.

But I welcome you to join me on a fresh journey.

So as we begin,

Just begin to get comfortable in your setting.

Whether you're once again on a meditation pillow or in a seat.

Sit in an alert posture that's not militaristic,

But more so comfortable,

Yet somewhat attentive.

With our feet firmly set on the ground,

Maybe our hands lying on the lap.

If you're on a meditation pillow,

You can sit as comfortable in the room as your body may allow you to.

Let us begin by closing your eyes,

Creating your center to settle in.

As you close your eyes,

Begin to take three gentle breaths.

Noticing the in-breath as well as the out-breath.

Inhaling and exhaling.

As you take your three breaths,

Note your experience.

Where do you first notice your breath?

Is it within your nose,

Your mouth,

Your throat?

Or your stomach?

Wherever you notice,

Just begin to make that note as it becomes part of your awareness.

After your third breath,

Begin to envision the horizon sun on a new day coming up.

Notice the feelings you experience as the sun rises on the horizon.

View the color of the sun,

Or even the light that radiates from it.

Knowing at this point,

It is safe and also a clear sight to view the sun.

Continue to notice feelings or emotions that arise as you begin to continue to envision the sun or the horizon.

Invite you to slowly take three more breaths.

Continuing to notice your inhale and your exhale.

And as you inhale,

Follow that breath as far as your awareness allows you to.

Notice where you may end up.

Whether it's your stomach,

Down your esophagus,

Feeling your lungs expand and retract.

Wherever you notice,

All experiences are welcome.

Continue to focus on your breath as I begin to read from laminations 3,

22 through 23.

The Lord's loving kindness indeed never ceases,

For His compassion never fails.

They are new every morning.

Great is your faithfulness.

The Lord's loving kindness indeed never ceases,

For His compassion never fails.

They are new every morning.

Great is your faithfulness.

I will read this passage one more time.

Begin to notice what emotions or feelings arise as these words just begin to soak with you in the present moment.

The Lord's loving kindness indeed never ceases,

For His compassion never fails.

They are new every morning.

Great is your faithfulness.

Continue to notice what feelings,

Emotions,

Or even experiences arise as those words settle in.

Bring your concentration back to your breath.

This time,

On the inhale,

Say to yourself within your mind,

Grace.

And on the exhale,

Say,

Fresh start or even new beginning.

So on the inhale,

Allow the grace to be accepted.

On your exhale,

Begin to proclaim your fresh start or new beginning from His grace.

So as you inhale,

Continue to say to yourself quietly or within your mind,

Grace.

As you exhale,

Begin to say new beginnings or even fresh start.

Grace on the inhale,

Fresh start on the exhale.

Oh grace,

On the inhale,

New beginning on the exhale.

As you continue to breathe,

Just let the fresh wind of God's grace begin to enter your body.

Continue to consume His grace.

And on the exhale,

Allow your fresh start,

A new beginning manifest from the result of His grace.

Now at the sound of the bell that I will ring,

When you can no longer hear the ring,

Invite yourself to slowly open your eyes,

Wiggle your toes,

And walking into your fresh start or new beginning.

The sound of the bell.

Thank you for your time.
