Finding a comfortable position,
Feeling the surface beneath you,
Raising your chest toward the sky,
Rolling your shoulders down and back,
Placing your hands on your belly or leaving them to your side,
Whichever you prefer,
Joining me for a few moments of nourishing breath.
Can you start to find your breath?
Breathing in through your nose and releasing,
Feeling your chest rise and your chest fall,
Inhaling deeply and letting it all go with an extended exhale,
Following a rhythm that feels right for you,
Bringing all of your attention and focus to experiencing breath,
With each inhale letting your nervous system know it can calm,
With each exhale creating the sound of the ocean at the back of your throat,
Breathing in inviting air into your lungs,
Allowing your chest to rise and releasing,
Noticing as your chest falls,
Sinking deeper into this moment.
As you breathe in,
Perhaps holding at the top of your breath,
Before letting it go,
Imagining the air is filled with a sense of peace and calm.
As you breathe out,
Imagining the air leaves with your stress and tension,
With each inhale your belly expanding,
With each exhale your belly contracts.
Breathing in,
Taking in energy,
Breathing out,
Releasing with a smile,
Carrying this inner smile with you for the remainder of your day.
