As winter settles in, the earth retreats. Roots burrow deep, conserving energy for the bloom to come. The animals slumber, the sun lingers low, and the season whispers: rest. In this yin time, give yourself permission to slow down, to listen, to be still. This track is a gentle reminder that slowing down, and giving permission to rest is a beautiful way to bring in the new year. Thank you to Dandelion Meditation for the background music for this track.

Transcript

As we step into winter,

The world around us slows down.

Nature invites us to follow its rhythm.

The trees pull energy into their roots,

Pulling back from their leaves and their branches.

Animals hibernate,

And the days grow shorter to remind us that this is a season of rest.

But as humans,

We often resist this call.

We feel pressure to set big goals and make resolutions,

To fix everything as the new year begins,

Even though this season is asking us to pause and restore.

Winter is a yin time,

A time of quiet,

Reflection,

And conserving energy.

Resting now isn't a sign of laziness,

It's a vital act of self-care.

It lays the foundation for growth and renewal that will come in the spring.

So,

As we move through this season together,

I invite you to give yourself permission to rest.

Let go of any urgency to do or become.

Simply be.

Honoring this moment,

This season,

And the wisdom of slowing down.

Thank you.
