Hi,
It's Julie Potichur for the Balanced Mind Meditation Center.
Let's find a comfortable seat.
Close your eyes fully or partially if it's more comfortable.
Just get a feeling of real relaxation and softness in your eyes and your eyelids.
And then we're going to take three breaths,
Making your exhale longer than your inhale.
Deeper than normal breaths as long as it's comfortable.
And now find your breath where you notice it most easily.
Whether it's the tip of your nose or your chest or your belly.
And then feel your body,
Your muscles and your bones being supported by wherever you're sitting or lying down.
And then I'd like you to imagine that you're basking in the sun and you're feeling the sun on your face.
It's not making you squint.
It's a really soft,
Warm kind of feeling.
And it's just allowing you to soften your face.
Soften your eyes and your jaws.
Then you're feeling the sun on your chest.
You're feeling the sun on your arms and your belly.
And on the fronts of your legs.
You're feeling the sun on your arms and your hands.
And then imagine that the sun is able to pour its warm light into your body through the top of your head.
That little spot when we're babies at the tops of the head that's sort of soft and nice.
The sun is filling up the inside of your head.
And now it's moving down your neck.
Into your chest and going down your arms.
Into your torso and going down your legs to your feet.
And you're filled with the sun.
Through this breathing,
Radiating golden light.
And I'm curious whether you can choose what words this sun brings up in you.
What energies this sun,
If you could put it into words.
Even just two or three words.
What the feeling of this sun in your body means to you.
Could be energy or just light or love.
But you're infused with this golden healing.
Feeling your whole body breathe with this radiating golden light.
This light extends outside the skin of your body for many feet in all directions.
And now you could scoop two handfuls of it up.
This golden light that has these words that you've attached to it.
And that you could offer them out to someone.
Someone specific or classes of persons or all people.
But you've got so much of this radiating golden beauty that you can afford to gently toss it and still have so much more.
Almost like saying,
Here,
Here,
Take some of my light,
Take some of my love,
Have some of my energy.
And see how your body feels being this light being.
This being filled with light.
This being filled with light.
This being filled with light.
This being filled with light.
Staying in the meditation,
Contemplating if you had any words come up for the feelings or the energies of this light.
How are you using these same concepts and words as you go out into the world in your human body to do what needs doing?
And contemplating that in meditation.
We're meditating on sunlight today because we just experienced the summer solstice.
And staying in this contemplative feeling,
Listening to these words by Hafiz,
Who said,
The sun never says,
That's the title of this little poem.
Even after all this time,
The sun never says to the earth,
You owe me.
Look what happens with a love like that.
It lights the whole sky.
Now wiggling your fingers and wiggling your toes.
Thanks so much for listening.
