Morning Christian Prayer To Remind You Of Your Identity

Good morning.

Have you ever felt like the weight of this world is too much,

Too strong?

This season that you are in is impossible to get around.

It's too big to see anything on the other side.

Maybe you feel like you're stuck in a cave.

You keep groveling,

Stretching your arms up to grab the dirt and climb out,

But you slip,

You keep slipping.

There's nowhere to go.

You're stuck here.

I just want to encourage you and affirm you and remind you that this is a lie.

This is not true.

It may feel this way.

You may feel like you're stuck in a mindset of darkness.

You can't even find a light above.

You can't even lift your eyes to see if there is a light,

But I promise you it's there.

It's waiting.

It's shining.

And it's okay.

It's okay that you can't see it yet because no matter what,

Whether you open your eyes or keep them shut,

It's still there waiting for you.

And I just want to speak to the inner parts of you right now that may have been telling you lies.

I want to dismantle those lies in the name of Jesus Christ.

I want to pluck every single lie that has planted root into your heart,

And I want to grab that lie from the base and rip it out.

Have you been believing that there may be no purpose for you?

Well,

Let me remind you that the God of the universe has an amazing purpose for your life.

In 1st Peter 2 9,

God says,

You are a chosen people,

A royal priesthood,

God's special possession,

That you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.

What a beautiful promise.

You are chosen.

You are part of him,

And he is the one to call you out of darkness.

In Colossians 1 16,

For in him all things were created,

Things in heaven and on earth,

Visible and invisible,

Whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities,

All things have been created through him and for him.

You were created by God.

You have a purpose.

In Jeremiah 29 11,

For I know the plans I have for you,

Declares the Lord,

Plans to prosper you and not to harm you,

Plans to give you a hope and a future.

Don't forget,

Friend,

God has plans for you,

Even if you can't see them unfolding right now.

And in Job 42 2,

God says,

I know that you can do all things,

No purpose of yours can be thwarted.

You have a purpose and there is nothing,

Neither height nor depth nor angel nor demon,

Nor anything that can separate you from the love of God and the purpose that you have on this earth.

I'm here to tell you in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ that you are not stuck.

You have not been given a spirit of slavery to fall back into fear,

But you have been given a sound mind,

A strong mind,

A mind that is lined up with Jesus Christ.

His mind is higher than our mind and yet he draws us to him.

He says that you are aligned with him,

So if he is radiant,

Free from shame,

Standing at the right hand of God on the throne,

How are you not?

It says in Psalm 34 5,

Those who look to him are radiant,

Free from shame.

If you have been feeling any sort of guilt or shame based off of a sin that Satan wants to hold you to,

I pray in the name of Jesus right now I cast that off of you.

Lord God remove that feeling of shame and fear and rejection and replace that with your love,

With your peace that surpasses all understanding,

With your peace that only,

Only resonates from you.

Psalm 62 5 says only God gives inward peace and I depend on him.

God alone is the mighty rock that keeps me safe and he is the fortress where I feel secure.

If you have been depending on yourself to pick yourself back up,

I ask that you would surrender,

That you would instead depend on God and ask God to please be the one to open your eyes to see the light that is waiting for you.

Listen my friend,

You are a child of God.

You are worth more than rubies and gold and every single diamond piled up high in this world that you could ever find.

And just like our Lord who has resurrected and who lives,

So can you.

So can your spirit.

You may be feeling downtrodden.

Your spirit may feel dampened,

It may feel distant from God,

But it's not true and I'm just here to remind you of the truth that your identity does not come from this world.

Your identity does not come from the patterns and the turmoil that so badly want to cling to you.

My friend,

Let's allow God to speak to us.

Let's allow him to shape us,

To mold us and I just pray that that you would surrender today to him.

That even though you haven't been wanting to ask for his direction,

His guidance,

That even though you haven't been wanting to seek out his plan for you,

I ask that today you would invite that in and even if you can't,

I'm going to right now pray on behalf of you.

Lord God,

Please,

Please meet this person where they're at.

Please protect them.

Give them that armor,

That breastplate of righteousness,

That sword of the Spirit,

That helmet.

Let us put on our armor of you and go out.

Let us wake up,

Awaken our senses,

Awaken our spirit.

Remind this beautiful person that they are deeply loved,

That you have not forgotten about them,

That even though this season that they've been in,

These circumstances,

This turmoil that has come up feels daunting.

It feels too big and we just confess Lord that it feels too big and we're asking for you to please,

Please God,

Take it off of us.

Lift it off of us and replace it with a deep feeling of peace.

A peace that we could never obtain from this world.

A peace that we could never obtain from our own mind or our own understanding,

But from your understanding alone,

Show us what it feels like.

Show us what it is like to have your peace.

A peace that will not let us down.

A peace that reminds us who we are in you,

That we are untouchable,

That even though the enemy may be fighting for us,

He will never win.

Jesus,

You have claimed the victory over our lives.

We are safe in you.

We are secure in you.

Thank you God for that security Lord.

With this truth I pray that you would step boldly into this day knowing that you have a purpose,

That God's peace is waiting for you.

You don't have to fight,

Just know that Jesus is fighting for you.

He will show you the answers to your questions.

He will show you that he is restoring you,

That he is restoring what the locusts have eaten.

I pray that he would show you tangible ways that he's fighting for you today,

Whether that's through friends,

Through other Christians that know God and encourage you in him,

Or if it's just the voice of Jesus himself,

If it's just his counsel his wisdom.

I pray that he would guide you today,

That he would restore those parts of you that have been broken and hurt,

That he would be the one to mend you together,

That you would not mend yourself,

That you would not feel like you have to,

And that you would just trust that he is the one to put you back together just like he has every other time.

May you recall the ways that he has lovingly knit you back together.

And just know that he is the light waiting for you.

He has never changed.

Even though we change and our emotions go up and down,

He has never changed.

His arms are open wide.

He's waiting for you to run to him.

He will rescue you.

He will fight for you.

He has conquered this season for you.

Be encouraged,

Friend.

You are in good hands.

You are in the hands of Jesus Christ.

He loves you.

I love you.

I just pray that you have a beautiful day ahead.

Take it moment by moment,

And he will be walking with you the whole time.

He has never left you,

Nor will he ever forsake you.

He is your God.

He is fighting for you.

He loves you so much.

Allow him to love you.

Allow him to show you his great love for you.

Amen.
