Christian Meditation To Renew Our Thoughts

In this practice, we focus on the Bible verse: "Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God." - Romans 12:2. This session is intended for those of a Christian faith. My hope is you will feel more at peace and renewed at the end of the prayer. God bless!

Good morning.

Just because you're awake doesn't mean that you're ready for the day yet.

I thought we would just take this time to breathe and meditate on God and draw ourselves closer to him.

He says in his word that if we seek,

We will find.

So I just thought we could start our morning off by seeking him,

Seeking his ways,

Seeking his wisdom,

Just meditating on who he is.

Let's just take a deep breath together.

Breathe in and out.

Let's do it two more times.

Breathe in and out.

One more time.

In and out.

Hopefully you're feeling a little bit more settled.

Even though the day is waiting for us,

We can still take time with ourselves and with God to center ourselves so that if there's anything that comes up during the day today,

We can come back to this moment and remember everything is fine.

Everything's going to be okay.

Let's just take a few deep breaths and re-center ourselves back to this moment.

Now I want to read a verse to you and I ask that you would just close your eyes if they're not already closed and just allow me to speak it over you.

Simply just listen to the words right now.

Do not be conformed to the pattern of this world,

But be transformed by the renewing of your mind.

Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is,

His good,

Pleasing and perfect will.

I love this verse because it reminds me that I'm not left by myself to make my own choices.

I'm thankful to God that He gives me the ability to choose if I want french fries one day or a Coke or if I want to go to the gym or call a friend.

I'm thankful that He gives me the freedom to make choices,

But that I'm not stuck with myself when I have hard choices to make and that my mindset is constantly evolving and growing and being renewed every day.

I think of a fountain and how when it's cycled,

It's new water.

I mean it might feel like it's the same mind and the same cycle.

We do have the same mind,

But it's still able to be renewed every day,

Even every moment,

Just like the water in the fountain.

It's cycled and it can be new.

So I just want to pray into this verse.

I'm going to ask God for wisdom for me and that He would just help me,

Encourage me and give me the words that will speak to you today.

The words that your mind needs to hear to grow and evolve and be renewed and be changed by God's word and by God's power versus the world.

So Lord,

Please just be with me as I pray.

I thank you for this opportunity and just pray that these words would speak life and light.

God,

I just thank you so much for this day.

I thank you that it is a new day.

I thank you for breath,

That we are here and that we are able to listen,

That we have ears to hear and that we have minds to discover and rediscover who we are and who you are.

I pray God that if we have been believing a false idea of you,

That you would renew our mind to discover exactly who you are in our life.

You are our Father.

You are our greatest counselor.

You are our shepherd and our guide.

You usher us to green pastures.

You lead us to still waters.

You are the one who gives us peace.

You are the one who cultivates that in us.

Protect us from worldly thinking,

From ego,

From all the wants and the needs.

God,

Help us to be content with what you have given us and to steward well what you have given us.

You ask us not to be conformed by society and by the way that the masses think.

You say not to be conformed by all the patterns of this world.

Maybe that means the pattern of social media,

The pattern of society,

The pattern of our little mini subcultures.

In just the way that we live in our cities,

In our neighborhoods,

You ask us to be called to a higher way of thinking,

To not be conformed to these patterns,

But to be transformed,

To be renewed,

To be made new in our mind.

God,

Please transform our minds in this very moment.

Give us a new and higher way of thinking.

Help us to go beyond our ego,

Help us to be victorious over the insecurities of our hearts,

The fears that we have,

The doubts that we have.

Please God renew our minds so that we can trust you and so that we can overcome all the fears that this world wants to stir up in us.

And instead stir up our spirit of faith,

Our spirit of power,

Our spirit of righteousness that we have just by knowing you,

By being your children,

By following you.

You know who we are.

You know us by name.

You know us by the hairs on our head and you know who we are and how we think and what our deepest desires are.

So please Lord,

Please renew us.

Please speak to us in the only way that you know how to.

You're the only person,

The only being who can speak to the deepest part of our souls.

Not podcasts,

Not even meditations,

But you God,

You alone.

Our refuge,

Our strength,

Our counselor,

You give wisdom,

You impart knowledge in your word and in your spirit.

And your spirit is alive in us.

So I just pray that we would tap into that today.

Tap into the holy power that exists in us.

You enable us.

You equip us with power.

You equip us with an armor and a shield to go forth into this day and to be protected.

We know God that we are transformed by you,

That we are not left alone by ourselves to fight the battles that lie ahead,

But that you God are the one to go before us and fight for us.

And we just have to rest in you.

We just have to know that you are God.

You are God.

So thank you,

Father.

Thank you.

I just proclaim that you have already changed our mindset for the day.

That you have already set us right.

That we have a sure footing.

That there is solid ground below us.

That we do not walk on sinking sand.

That we will not grow weary.

But that instead we will be lifted up by you,

By your angels today.

God,

I just pray that this prayer would be true.

That it would reign in our minds.

That it would be a blessing.

That we would not just hear these words,

But that we would know that you have changed our mind in some way.

Continue to replenish thoughts that are not true,

Thoughts that are false.

Replenish them with thoughts that are true,

That are praiseworthy,

That are noble.

Thoughts that are from you.

Lord,

I just ask for a fresh cleansing.

Cleanse our minds.

Remind us of truth that we know has been there all along.

Maybe we've forgotten.

Maybe we've grown distant from you.

Draw us closer to you and remind us of the sweetness that it is to just taste and see that you are good.

Give us things today that would remind us of your sweetness,

Lord.

God,

I thank you for anyone who's listening right now.

And I just pray that you would be with their heart specifically.

You know exactly what they need.

You know exactly what they need today to get through the day,

To enjoy the day,

And to be prospered in the day.

So I just lift them up to you,

Lord.

I just thank you for their uniqueness,

For who they are specifically.

And I just pray that you would enable them to get in touch with themselves more and be more connected with you,

God.

I thank you so much for joining me today in this meditation.

I pray that you would feel more ready to start the day.

That not only your mind,

But your heart is in the right place with God.

That you can open your eyes after this meditation.

Maybe stretch for a few minutes and just breathe.

Maybe just smile and welcome the day ahead.

Welcome the day ahead knowing that you are prepared,

Knowing that God has prepared it beforehand and that you are just to walk in step with Him.

He is with you.

He has gone before you.

He has good plans for you.

This day is waiting for you and I'm so excited to see what God has for you today.

So I pray that you would be blessed,

Less stressed.

And I just pray that you would be encouraged.
