This is a short attunement to connect with the inner child.
You can use this every day or several times a week to build a secure attachment to yourself and your inner child.
This will support you in everyday life and help you to feel more grounded and connected to self.
Begin by closing your eyes or softening your eyes down if you don't wish to close them.
Notice your breath and your breathing.
Notice your inhales if you can.
Notice how they blend into your exhales.
Take a few moments with this if you can.
We're allowing the breath to ground us into this moment so that we can slow the body down,
Slow the heart rate down and rest in this moment.
In this present moment,
We'll be able to get a sense of the inner child within,
But we must slow down a little bit first and relax and start to centre ourselves.
So just keep noticing your breath.
You don't need to change it or make it any different to how it is now.
Just noticing those inhales,
Those exhales and how they feel throughout your body.
Can you feel your stomach moving,
Perhaps?
Maybe you can feel your ribs moving,
Your lower ribs.
Relax your jaw,
Relax your cheeks.
Just let any sounds that are around you come and go.
Relax the muscles around your neck,
Relax even your collarbone,
You can get a sense of that relaxing.
You can relax your shoulders.
You can relax the breath,
Relax the breathing if that feels possible for you to do.
Take in this moment to check in with yourself,
Slowing everything down,
Allowing yourself to slow down.
Now if it feels possible to you,
You can place a hand over your heart on your chest or a hand over your stomach or maybe both,
But if you don't want to do this,
Just rest in your hands whether they feel comfortable for you today.
If you can place a hand over your heart,
Notice your hand there,
Notice your breath and allow your body to slow down a little bit more and tune in.
Take in these moments for yourself and tuning in,
Tuning in to what's real for you,
What's alive for you and what's present for you today.
And now we will check in with the inner child.
I'd like you to imagine the inner child is the most authentic version of yourself,
The most loving version of yourself,
The most free,
The most carefree and the most innocent.
They are also curious about the world around them,
Including you and your life.
The inner child is curious about you and getting to know you and vice versa.
This doesn't have to land perfectly for you today or every day,
But just keep in an open mind as we go on with this check-in.
So the inner child really hangs on to your essence for you,
Your gifts,
Your purest of essence and spirit and the inner child looks to you for protection,
Safety,
Understanding,
Respect and care.
But above all attention and attachment,
The inner child needs to feel securely attached to us and vice versa.
Taking your time with this,
We can check in by asking the following open-ended queries.
You don't need to say these out loud,
Just listening to them is enough and then maybe you can do a bit of self-inquiry with them and just take a moment with them.
There's no right or wrong way of doing this,
Just letting whatever arises arise and not judging that,
Just seeing what comes forward.

Maybe letting your brain,
A sense of your brain relaxing for a moment here.
Between your ears,
A sense of relaxation between your ears,
From ear to ear.
You can do this check-in every day or several times a week.
You can come back to it anytime,
Until you start to feel that you can guide yourself through it whenever you need to.
Be steady with it and don't judge any of the answers that come forward.
This is all about strengthening the connection to self,
And building the secure attachment to your inner child.
So allow yourself patience,
