The Wishing Tree A long time ago,

In a small village surrounded by mountains and clear rivers,

There stood an old and majestic tree called the Wishing Tree.

No one knew how many years it had been there,

But every spring,

Its branches filled with white flowers so beautiful,

They looked like snowflakes floating in the air.

The villagers believed this tree had special power.

They said that if someone made a wish with pure and kind heart,

The tree would grant it.

Many travelers came from far away,

Asking for riches,

Success or power,

But the tree never granted selfish wishes.

However,

Every year,

One boy from the village came to the tree with a different kind of wish.

His name was Kiren,

And he never asked for toys or sweets.

Instead,

He wished for things that would make others happy.

Wishing Tree,

He whispered on the spring,

Please help Grandma May get strong again so she can walk.

The next morning,

Everyone was amazed when Grandma May stepped out of the house,

Leaning on her cane,

Walking with a smile on her face.

The following year,

Kiren came back to the tree.

Wishing Tree,

I wish that Mr.

Rohan's field would grow again so he has enough food.

A few days later,

Gentle rain fell on the dry land,

And soon seeds began to sprout,

Filling the field with rice and fruit.

The villagers started to notice that Kiren's wishes always brought happiness to others,

But one man was not happy about this.

His name was Haru.

Haru was a greedy merchant who had asked the tree for riches many times,

But his wishes had never come true.

Jealous of Kiren,

He decided to test the tree's power.

One night,

He hid behind the bushes,

Waiting for Kiren to arrive.

When the boy knelt by the tree and closed his eyes,

Haru jumped out of his hiding place and shouted,

I bet the tree only grants you wishes because you come here every year.

I'll make wishes too and we'll see if the tree is really magical.

Kiren said nothing and simply watched calmly.

Wishing Tree,

Haru said with arrogance,

I wish to be the richest man in the village with mountains of gold and jewels.

The wind gently rustled the tree's leaves,

But nothing happened.

Haru crossed his arms and huffed,

I knew this was just a silly story.

But Kiren smiled and stepped forward,

Placing his hands together.

Wishing Tree,

He whispered,

I wish for Mr.

Haru to discover the true treasure of the heart.

That night,

Haru had a strange dream.

In it,

He lived in a grand house full of gold,

But he was completely alone.

No one came to visit him.

He had no friends or family,

And his heart felt empty.

When he woke up,

He felt something different inside,

A sadness he had never known before.

That morning,

As he walked through the village,

He saw Grandma May helping the children,

Mr.

Rohan sharing his harvest with the neighbors,

And Kiren playing with his friends.

Everyone looked so happy.

For the first time in his life,

He understood what the tree had been trying to teach him.

From that day on,

Haru changed.

Instead of asking for riches,

He started helping others,

Sharing his food,

His time,

And his kindness.

And just like that,

Without even asking for it,

His heart became full of the greatest treasure of all,

The joy of doing good.

True wealth is not measured in gold or jewels,

But in the happiness we share with others.
