High up in the soft blue sky,
Where the sun painted golden light across the world,
Floated a little cloud named Lumi.
She was small and fluffy,
Shaped like a cotton ball,
On her edges she emerged in the sunlight.
Lumi loved being in the sky.
She loved watching the birds dance below her,
The rivers winding like silver ribbons,
On the tall mountains,
Standing like ancient guardians of the land.
But deep inside,
Lumi felt a little unsure.
She saw the big,
Strong clouds that move with purpose,
And the delicate wisp of clouds that reeled gracefully in the wind.
I'm just a little cloud,
She whispered.
What am I meant to do?
One evening,
As the sun was sinking behind the mountains,
Lumi felt a gentle breeze beside her.
It was Saphir,
The wise old wind.
His voice was soft,
Like a song only the sky could hear.
They don't want it,
Saphir murmured.
Why do you look so worried?
Lumi sighed.
I don't know my purpose.
The other clouds seem to know where they are going,
But I just float and watch.
Saphir chuckled.
His breath rustling through the treetops below.
Floating and watching are beautiful things too.
But if you wish to understand more,
You must let go and trust the journey.
Let go?
Lumi asked.
Yes,
Saphir said.
Do not be afraid.
The sky is wide and the world is waiting for you.
Lumi thought about this for a long time.
Could she really let go?
Where will she go?
What if she got lost?
But something inside her,
A tiny whisper,
Told her that Saphir was right.
And so,
She took a deep breath and opened herself to the wind.
As soon as Lumi stopped resisting,
Saphir carried her forward.
She floated gently at first,
Feeling the cool air beneath her.
She passed over the mountains,
Where monks in orange robes sat in silence.
Their eyes were closed,
Their faces peaceful.
What are they doing?
Lumi asked.
They are meditating,
Saphir replied.
They are listening to the silence inside them.
Lumi watched quietly.
The monks did not rush,
Did not worry.
They simply sat,
Breathing in and out,
Trusting that all was well.
As she moved on,
She reached the great rivers,
Where the water flowed endlessly,
Curving through the land like a never-ending path.
Does the river know where it's going?
Lumi wondered aloud.
Saphir laughed softly.
No,
Little one,
But it trusts the journey.
Lumi watched the water shimmer in the sunlight.
It did not struggle,
It did not fear.
It simply moved forward,
Always finding a way.
Maybe,
She thought,
I can be like the river.
The sky carried Lumi over a vast golden desert.
The sands stretched far and wide,
Rippling like waves frozen in time.
Below,
She saw an old turtle,
Slowly making its way across the dunes.
Lumi was curious.
Why does the turtle move so slowly?
She asked Saphir.
Well,
It is not in a hurry,
Saphir said.
It knows that every step is part of the journey.
Lumi watched the turtle for a long time.
Though the sun was hot and the path was long,
The turtle never stopped,
Step by step.
It moved forward,
Trusting that it will reach where it needed to be.
Sometimes,
We do not need to rush.
Sometimes,
We just need to keep going,
Saphir said.
Lumi felt something warm inside her heart.
Maybe she did not need to know her purpose right away.
Maybe,
Just like the turtle,
She just needed to trust and keep moving.
As Lumi traveled,
Something began to change.
She felt heavier.
Her soft,
Fluffy body became full and round.
Why do I feel like this?
Lumi asked.
You are holding water now,
Saphir said.
Soon,
It will be time to give.
But if I let go of the water,
What will happen to me?
Lumi asked,
And a little afraid,
Will I disappear?
Saphir smiled.
Do the trees disappear when they lose their leaves?
And does the river disappear when it reaches the ocean?
Lumi thought about this.
The trees in the autumn let go of their leaves.
But in spring,
They grew new ones.
The river flowed into the ocean,
But it always came back as rain.
Maybe,
She thought,
Kithen does not mean disappearing.
And so,
Lumi let go.
Raindrops fell softly from her,
Kissing the earth below.
The thirsty ground drank happily.
The flowers stretched their petals and children ran outside,
Laughing in the fresh,
Cool rain.
As Lumi released her water,
She felt light again.
But when she looked out,
She saw something magical.
She was still there,
Reflected in the river below.
I'm still here,
She said.
You see,
Saphir said gently,
You did not disappear.
You simply became part of everything.
As the rain cleared,
The warm sun touched Lumi once more.
She felt herself lifting,
Rising back into the sky,
Lighter and freer than before.
I understand now,
Lumi said softly.
I do not need to fear change.
I will always be part of the great journey.
Saphir swirled around her in a soft embrace.
Yes,
Little one,
You are never lost.
You are always exactly where you need to be.
Lumi smiled.
She was no longer afraid.
She floated gently in the sky,
Knowing that one day she would gather water again.
And one day,
She would give again.
Because that was the way of the universe.
Always moving.
Always changing.
Always connected.
And with that peaceful thought,
Lumi closed her eyes and let the wind carry her home.
