Daisy Duckling,

Written and narrated by Anna Scoils.

Daisy Duckling wandered around the farm with her brothers and sisters.

They were all quacking away,

But Daisy wasn't making much noise.

She was paying attention to the feeling of the grass beneath her flippered feet.

And the little dew drops glistening in the sunshine.

Her brothers and sisters all jumped into the lake and were happily splashing about.

Daisy watched from the riverbank.

She wasn't sure she wanted to get into the water.

It looked very cold in there.

She decided to stay on the banks of the lake and enjoy the sunshine.

Shining down on her fuzzy fur.

She ruffled her feathers and snuggled down to watch her brothers and sisters enjoying their swim in the lake.

After a while,

Daisy started to get a bit bored.

She started daydreaming,

Thinking about the Winter Olympics.

How she'd always wanted to be an ice skating champion.

Skating on the lake in the winter.

Leaping into the air,

Jumping high,

And spinning around as she landed.

Around and around she would go,

With her little wings in the air.

Then into a pirouette,

Before the crowd cheered.

Bouquets of roses were thrown onto the ice,

As everyone called her name.

But that was just a dream.

Daisy was just a little duckling.

She couldn't even ice skate.

What was Daisy to do?

She was startled by the very loud quack of her noisiest brother.

As he got out of the lake and shook himself down.

Water covered Daisy from head to flipper.

She was not very happy about it.

She just made a little huffy quack sound.

And wandered back to her mummy and daddy.

Back at the barn.

When she got back to the barn,

She saw a present waiting for her.

All wrapped up.

It wasn't her birthday.

What could it be?

She didn't know,

But her mummy and daddy told her the present was for her.

She opened it as fast as she could,

Feeling very excited.

It turned out to be a pair of ice skates.

They must have known about her big dream.

But how could they?

She had never told anyone.

She tried the ice skates on and they fitted perfectly.

She couldn't wait until the winter came so she could try them out.

Skating on the lake.

The end.
