With a relaxed posture,
Either lying or sitting down.
Making sure that your back is supported and aligned.
Release your shoulders.
Use your breath to release any tension from your body.
And just breathe.
Watch the breath move in and move out.
Relax your feet.
Release the tension from your legs.
Soften your pelvis.
And relax your abdomen.
And relax your abdomen.
Breathe into your chest and allow the rib cage to relax.
Relax your shoulders.
Relax your neck.
Your chin.
Relax your jaw.
Soften your eyes.
Relax your forehead and your temple.
And relax your scalp.
Observe your body lying here without tension as you breathe.

We all have an internal voice that speaks to us.
Sometimes the voice can be helpful and build us with confidence and self-belief.
Sometimes a voice inside of us can be a deep part of us that is critical and unkind.
This voice is your inner critic,
The first to pull you down,
To hold you back and to knock your self-esteem.
Today,
As you lie here breathing deeply,
I want you to imagine that you were meeting this inner critic.
You are doing so with an attitude of friendliness and understanding.
They are not your enemy.
They have been a guiding friend,
But one that is fearful and afraid.
I want you to see your inner critic before you.
Notice that they are scared and that they do not hold any power.
Observe that they want to be loved,
As every part of you wants to be loved.
Imagine that they are there,
Just in front of you,
And that you can reach out and hold them.
And as you embrace them,
You feel them soften.
They have less solidity.
They are not strong.
Notice what happens as you embrace the inner critic with love,
No longer resisting them,
No longer pushing them away,
But accepting that they are part of you.
I want you to notice that this inner critic has good intentions for you and that they are only a small part of you.
As you let them go from your embrace,
Letting them know that you have appreciated their protection and their concern,
Watch how they can now become smaller and smaller,
With far less power,
As you fully accept and love them.
Thank them for their part in your life so far.
Thank them for the protection they have offered you.
And let them know that you are grateful.
Let them know that you are now ready for new challenges and that you embrace change,
And that there is no need to be scared.
Watch and feel as your inner critic becomes smaller and smaller,
Until they can be inside you and yet not have an importance in who you are.
When they have become the smallest that they can comfortably be for you,
See how easy it is to have them there,
Whilst the rest of you grows and grows,
Full of all the positive,
Confident and capable things you know about yourself.
Take a moment to feel the sensations of being your confident,
Capable self.
Experience them in your body.
Notice the positive thoughts that you have and how good it feels to be this way.
And when you are ready,
Taking those positive feelings with you,
Open your eyes.
